I didn't have one. Like @JustlikeHeaven: said, walking from the car was much needed exercise for me.

I've never heard of this but I wouldn't have asked for one if I did know. I think that there are people who really need those parking spaces and my desire for one doesn't warrant it. I know a person who is deaf in one ear and is legally entitled to a parking pass - he has one and flaunts it! I don't think it's right.

Honestly, I don't think I would, even with multiples. While I'm concerned about preterm labor, if it's bad enough that I can't walk from a normal space, how am I supposed to walk around the store? If it's that risky, I think I'd be better off at home.

But I probably won't be able to fit behind the wheel well by the 3rd tri, so I don't know that I would be driving anyway!

I think it is really unnecessary, I am sure that you go to the mall/store intending on walking around, so I don't really see in that case why you would need one. Also, unless you are on bed rest or restricted activity (and if you are, should you be walking all around the mall/a store), the activity is good for you!

Ha! I figure I get my exercise walking to and from the car and around the store. I try to park a few spots away to get that exercise!

Nope, but when I was in the last 2 months, I just went to work, sat on my butt and went back home. Going to a store was too much work, even with the pregnant parking spaces! I used a moterized cart at one point. Hey, I was HUGE and swollen with water to the point of looking like I was about to pop!LOL

We've got parking spots dedicated for women and families, so there'd be no need. I like the family spots because they tend to be wider, so there's more room to buckle up the car seats and get the strollers in.

I think there is no shame asking for one if you are having a difficult pregnancy (it would never have occurred to me to ask, though!). Just because you're pregnant, it doesn't mean life ends and you can just sit on your butt at home. What if you already have other kids? It might be an option for your first child to never go to the store and have your husband do it or something but I think that becomes less realistic once you're expecting #2 or more. I remember doing absolutely nothing in my 1st trimester except going to work because I was so exhausted. But if I am pregnant again, this isn't gonna happen and if I really need that pass then heck yeah I would ask for it. No reason to be a martyr if I was really feeling that terrible and I also had to get my toddler into the store with me.

I think if there were complications that warranted it, I might consider it, but around here, many places have special parking for expectant mothers that's sometimes even closer than the handicapped parking. I would probably just use those if I really needed to be walking less.

Whatever happened to those expectant mother parking spots? When I was growing up all the stores had them. Now I only see them at one store.
