Are they safe? I don't know what else to do as we live in an upside down house, with living areas on the top floor, and I don't want to restrict LO to one room at a time.

hmm - never heard of these. Are you worried your LO would slip through? Or get stuck?

@theknest: we worry that she might get stuck, but also the posts aren't super strong so if she threw her weight against them one might snap.

We have them on our railings. Our house was built in the 80s and the slats seemed wide (and our daughter started walking at 9 months), so we were afraid she'd try to squeeze through them. So far, they've worked great!
