DD hates when I brush her hair and often it ends in tears. I am thinking about getting one of those detangling brushes but I'm doubtful that they actually work. Have you used one, and does it work?

I've used the knot genie on DD's hair since Christmas and it has made a big difference. No more crying after baths!

I use the wet brush, and have found it a million times better than the knot genie. I like that its an actual brush, not a little funny shaped thing you hold in the palm of your hand. it glides through her wavy/knotty long hair very easily when its wet, and I just spray some detangler onit when its dry and it works very very well.

We use the wet brush too and love it! I make sure to use conditioner and detangler to help with all of the tangles.

@regberadaisy: I'm not sure? I have a regular sized wet brush (like an adult sized hair brush), I haven't tried any of the other products.

My mom worked at a children's salon and now swears by the knot genie or tangle teezer for working with kids hair and highly recommends it for adults as well. I have a tangle teezer and it has made combing through my fine, easily tangled, easily torn hair after a shower a breeze. I take it with me even just for a night away and have noticed a huge difference in how much breakage I have in my hair.

I haven't but am mentally noting all these positive reviews of the knot genie for when LO2 (girl!) comes along. We like the honest co. Detangler spray on my son!

I have heard great things about The Wet Brush. We use the Tangle Teezer and I like it but I still prefer a wide toothed comb. LO has very curly textured hair.
