I used one yesterday at BRU which was unnecessary (the regular spots were pretty empty) but nice. Expectant mother parking spots are not common around here!

They only have them at one store (our grocery store) and when I was huge and having hip/pelvic issues I sure did use them if they were available.

I did when I was a beached whale and every step was excruciating. They aren't common here but there was one place I frequented for lunch that had one and I very much appreciated when it was available.

Pretty much every where here has 'expectant mother' or 'family' parking. Usually next to the handicapped parking spots. I've used them with my momma friends and they're super helpful.

My DH was dying to park in them but I only let him once I was 8+ months and I couldn't walk far. If it was a good day, or if another spot semi close was open we would take that instead to make room for ladies out there who needed it more than me.
They are fairly common around here

All. The. Time. (Here they're usually just called 'family parking')
I do not have time to be wrangling a toddler + infant through a parking lot any longer than necessary.
ETA: you know where there isn't any and should be? The liquor store. Yep. I'd be down with that.

The only place that has them where I could use them is the nearest big grocery store--this store is notoriously crowded and it's hard to get a spot AT ALL, so when I'm pregnant I totally park in the expectant mother spots--although usually they are taken up by the rogue taxis people use to take their groceries home instead of expectant mothers. grr.

I don't think I ever have. My husband asked me if I wanted to, but at the time I wasn't huge and felt okay walking.

@YouGotMe: same here. DH was more excited about parking there then I was. I just parked normally. Figured I could use the walking. lol

As soon as I got pregnant DH was urging me to use the expecting/small children parking spots at the grocery store. Totally unnecessary until late in pregnancy IMO, and I held off until I started having hip problems at 6 1/2 months, which was in the dead of the winter. The closer parking was a godsend! Now I continue to use it with my LO, who's 6 weeks old. The less far I have to lug that bucket seat the better!

I never used them on my own, but my MIL would always park in them when I was with her in the car.

I have at BRU & BBB. I'll usually pick the furthest one of those, but it is nice... especially since I'm officially waddling with only 1wk to go.

Never but have used family parking, which I find much more useful to have than pregnant lady parking.
There was one time at the very end of my last pregnancy we almost used one because there was no parking but these people cut us off and got it, and of course none of them looked pregnant, but I guess you never know.

We don't have any special parking around here (except handicapped, obv), which I prefer.

@2littlepumpkins: yeah, I think they should all be "family and expectant mother" parking.
For me with my LO, the best spots are next to the cart return. Proximity to the store doesn't matter as much.

Heck yes I used them and I used the "Parent of an Infant" parking spots at our mall and Harris Teeter until LO was like 15 months old haha.
...Actually one time I used the infant parking spot to go to a movie with girlfriends when I didn't have LO. I figured my car seat would keep me from getting in trouble. #sorrynotsorry

No but I wish we had one or two at the office. Our parking spots are freaking tiny. I can walk fine but a few days I got stuck not being able to get into my car after work because someone was parked too close on both sides. I had to come in earlier this pregnancy so I always parked next to a planter on the drivers side.

I use family parking all the time and when I got big with my first pregnancy I used them as well as preggo spots.
Now I'm not sure on the etiquette here but at my grocery there's a spot that reads "pregnant parking" (in French) but has a pregnant woman pushing a stroller on the picture. I never read the words so always assumed it was for families... Now that I'm pregnant again it's no big deal but I totally used it before just cause of the stroller. Did I make a big oops?
