Growing up my father was Republican, but our current governor changed his mind!

    I lean liberal/democratic, even socialist.

Raised democrat and I am still democrat. However, I am open to voting for someone else outside of my party if I feel they are the best option.

My family never talked about politics, so I didn't get much influence from them. I have tended to be(come) more liberal, & refuse to identify with one party (at least not Democratic vs Republican). I have a really bitter taste in my mouth about our entire political system. It is so not what it was originally intended to be with all the lobbyists, career politicians wanting to line their pockets & the special treatment they all vote for themselves, etc, etc. I dread this election because no one seems like a good choice & Trump seems like a terrifying potential president to me.

My parents were registered democrats but mostly had conservative views. I would say I lean left on most issues but still hold onto a few conservative ideas. I try to be open minded and I like hearing both sides, as long as they're presented in a respectful manner.

I was raised in an extremely liberal house. I still vote mostly Democrat, but am not a fan of labeling myself as a member of either circus. I've been registered Independent for years.

I found it very ironic that in order to vote for one of the longest serving Independents, I had to re-register as a Democrat for this primary. As soon as the primary is over I'm re-re-registering as an Independent.

Raised republican, and now I'm in the middle. I'm fiscally conservative (or even libertarian), but socially more democratic.

Previously I've always voted republican but I don't think I will be this year. I'll vote republican in our primary (anti Trump AND Cruz) but I don't have much faith in any of the GOP candidates. I'll probably be voting democrat in November.

I was raised in a republican household...both my parents are hardcore...

I associated as a republican now but for different reasons than my parents.

I am socially much more liberal but fiscally very conservative. I am also hugely against big government spending/taxes. So I relate more with republicans.

ETA: trump would certainly not be my first choice but I could never vote for HRC and while I like Bernies personality and spirit I just can't support a socialist. So I will be voting republican in November more as a vote against the democrats - less in support of the gop (unless my dreams of Romney running w Rubio as vp come miraculously true)

My parents were super religious (as was I growing up), and growing up I believe they were mostly one issue voters (anti abortion). I don't remember one discussion in our house that was about economics or health care or anything really outside of abortion and typical anti-gay evangelical Christian stuff. I mean, it wasn't phrased as anti-gay, it was more..."pro traditional family", but now as an adult, I see that for what it is.

Anyway, towards the end of HS I definitely started waking up a little and question religion, my parents' views, those opinions. College solidified my opinions. Now I'm a die hard liberal leaning towards modern socialism. Although when it comes to raising children, I'm still very traditional in a lot of ways, I completely 100% support issues like universal one-payer healthcare, free quality public education for all, subsidized child care and university. I believe these things strengthen our nation as a whole. I have trouble seeing how anyone can't see the long game when it comes to those issues. So yeah, there's never been a Republican or even Independent who has represented my views.

A little, mostly because I've lived in a number of places with wildly differing views as the norm. Growing up, my hometown had Democrats and Republicans, but the Democrats were fairly conservative and the Republicans fairly liberal. I didnt actually understand the difference between them for a long time!

I now live somewhere that is fairly moderate as well, but slightly more liberal leaning socially. I am very comfortable with the politics here, probably even more so than where I grew up. People place considerable emphasis on education policy and getting tax breaks and investment to stimulate the local economy. That works for me!

Nationally, I've evolved a bit. I think I've come to decide that in an ideal world, I'd like a moderste to conservative president and a decently liberal congress in order to balance each other out. A more reserved President can act as a steady hand against the excesses of public opinion, while a more liberal Cogress can put forth bills to help guarantee rights for all. I think the Senate ideally should be a-partisan or evenly split with a willingness to work across the aisle and the House be more representative of the constituency of the country. Regardless, there should be none of this Tea Party holding people hostage because of their vote shit that's going on now.

So, after getting all Tocqueville on you, my answer is: yes, I've changed, but it's more of a maturation/evolution than a dramatic sizemic shift.

Raised conservative asshole-ish, ha! I mean, really...racist...sexist....Yeah, no.

I lean fiscally conservative but very socially liberal. I have a hard time dis-equating conservatism with the kind of conservatism that I knew, growing up. Life experiences, mostly.
