@bluestriped bee: he's the only Prince George, but Charles is rumored to be taking George when he ascends the throne.

@rattles: oh, really? I never knew that. So Prince Charles might be King George? Why would he want to change his name? This is all so fascinating.

I have to say I kind of love that name ..... I may be slightly bias though since my baby's name is Louis Alexandre! And we had a few people tell us that the name we picked sounded "royal" lol

@bluestriped bee: they can choose a new name at coronation, rather like the pope. George is one of Charles' middle names, after his grandfather George VI whose first name was actually Albert. Charles doesn't have a great history for British royals - Charles I was assassinated - and so rumor is that he'll take George. We'll see!

Sigh, not a fan. I can't imagine looking at a tiny baby and saying I'll call you George! I was hoping for Alexander - something strong, regal, and unique in that there has not been a King Alexander in Britain's monarchy! I'm hoping they'll call him Alexander despite his name being George!

Also, I am glad they didn't use Spencer. She was a bit of a nutter and I think including her name would possibly have caused a bit of controversy!

@purpleunicorn: I love your DS's name so much! And if I'm not mistaken (and don't sound like too much of a creeper, sorry!) you're French Canadian, right? That name, said in French, is just swoon worthy...

Eh, George isn't my fave pick...I would have preferred Alexander as the first name!

I was initially disappointed, until I mentally thought "George" in an English accent. Now it's charming!

@Ree723: i am english, but from Quebec and DH is French Canadian, so DS's name is pronounced the French way! (Lou-ee). Although I don't have a french accent, DH does when he speaks French
