I am going "home" for Canadian thanksgiving in 2 weeks and I'll be 14 weeks pregnant by then. The original plan was to tell people about my pregnancy at that point, but waiting is so hard!!!!
I have some friends there that I am text/in person friends only, meaning I've never called them on the phone!
Is it ok to tell them by text?

text with pic, then phone call to the long distance ones that i'm still in weekly contact with.

I'd probably text since that's the "normal" means of communication now days, apart from e-mail.

I tried to keep it a secret until I saw them in person. Luckily my close friends don't like too far away. I made the trip to visit each one of them because it was important for me to tell them in person. After I told my close friends I finally made the announcement on my blog.

I didnt announce it to anyone that I didnt see in person, until I was in the last month of my pregnancy and the I sent some of them messages to let them know I had a baby on the way.

I made lots of phone calls, even to people I hadn't talked to in a couple of months. It was actually really fun to be excited together (even on the phone) and then to spend some time catching up. I knew many of them I wouldn't be seeing in person any time soon, and I wanted to tell them as directly as possible before they saw it on facebook or heard it from someone else.

I texted all my friends a bump pic with a teddy bear in my arms. They went NUTS! Be prepared to get phone-calls immediately after sending the text:) was very fun:)

Phone call or facetime on our iphones/ipads. That was the best because we could see their faces
