Well, it just kinda was sprung on DH and me. I'm a big star wars nerd and we were joking about naming him Luke, but we didn't like just luke and it would have been too obvious as to my obsession.

So, Lukas. Which hilariously has more than one tie to star wars.

We don't have a name picked yet, but we are down to just a few.

For our girl names: One is an X-Men character that we discovered while watching the old animated series on Netflix and the other came out during a perusal of French names on a baby naming app (DH is very into French names).

Our boy names were all a part of aforementioned baby name app perusal. I feel like I have seen every possible name on that app!

out DD's name is Audrey, we i've always loved the name and Audrey Hepburn, her middle name is after a billy joel song (DH's choice)

#1 is maternal grandmother for first name and paternal grandmother for middle name.
#2 had to have a name from the same era as #1, not in the top 200, that also had a song associated with it and had a really cute nickname with it, middle name is maternal great great aunt's name and a nod to all the Marys and Maries in our lives.

There was the cutest little girl with red piggy tails in Target about 5 years ago and her dad yelled her name because she was running up and down the aisle...I loved it ever since and the girl kind of reminded me of myself.

Middle name is my great grandma's last name.

First name was the first name we both agreed on. His middle name is DH's middle name

It may seem weird but we both had a dream about someone with the same name within days apart.
And I also had a friend that had a daughter with the name we chose that passed away.

@highwire: We are team green, so we have two names: the boy name is from Entourage (another HBO show), haha, and our girl name is from a blogger I stumbled upon a few years ago. I had never heard her name, and fell in love with it. The middle names are family names.

We had talked about names, but were having trouble settling on one, so we played a little game. We each had a piece of paper folded into quarters (4 boxes) and, hidden from the other person, wrote our 3 favorite names, each in its own box. Then we passed our paper to the other, picked a favorite name that they had written down and added a middle name. We came up with the exact same name.
LO's first name is unique to him (in our family), but his middle name is hubs' father. We wanted to honor a family member with the middle name rather than a first name.

We picked his first name because it was the only name we were kind of close on. His middle name is after his paternal grandfather who passed away a few years ago.

We actually went through the names database at DH's work to see what was really popular, and what wasn't common. We made a top 6 or 8 list, and just tried names out from there. There's only one other Kennedy on the list (of about 1500 kids), so that's a bonus!

I got Kaia from a girl in high school who had the same name and I loved it so much I swore I would name a future daughter that. Lucky for me Mr. Hedgie loved the name too!

Her middle, Lynn, is both my mother and paternal grandmothers middle name. That was decided by me when I was a kid too. Lol. Again just lucky the Mr. loved the name combo.

My best friends cousins son has the same name as LO (that's how we added it to our list) then at The hospital we had 2 names, and I just knew Bradley was the right name for him!!

Baby girl will be named Hyla. It's a genus of tree frog (my husband is a wildlife biologist), and it means "from the woods." Her middle name is Sophia because I liked it and it sounds good with Hyla.

DH actually had it on his list and I lived it. I had heard it before, but it's not very popular so that was perfect for us

DSs name is Boston Tate, Boston is after a song that we were both really into when we first started dating and Tate was from a name book. We like his name because it sounds like such a strong name, and it fits him perfectly because ne has such a stronh personality. We thought alot of people wouldnt like his name but everyone loves it!

DDs name is Isla Lacey, Isla is a name I have loved forever (I love girls names which start with vowels) and Lacey was from a baby name book. It's a soft delicate name and it fits DD to a tee.

I'm Chinese and my husband is primarily German/Irish so I wanted her first name to be of her heritage. It was also important that the name has good meaning. I found her name and the meaning was full of joy bc what more do we want for our kids than for them to be happy? And it's Gaelic of origin. Her middle name is after my husband's maternal grandmother; an amazing woman that is dear to both of us.

DD is named after my husband's great-grandfather- it's traditionally a boy's name (or a last name) but we both loved it for a girl and it suits her. I thought we might shorten it and call her Ellie, but so far we haven't.

We picked our sons name from the show Lost. We both loved the name (and the character), and it ended up being the only name we agreed on.

His middle name is from a musician - DS sortof picked it out himself, as it was (and is) his favorite. He would always react when he heard it while still in utero, and now it calms him down is he's fussy.

    His name is Desmond Elliott.

His middle name is after two of my uncles that have passed (they had the same name) and the first name I just really liked and DH thought it wasn't long enough so we went with the longer version. Jackson Eric.

We had a tough time coming up with a name because DH is very particular about boy names (he could have cared less about girl names).

We got both first and middle name from a baby name book! DH picked the middle name because he thought it sounded like "a surfer name." DS's first name is Cliff (short for Clifton). People always ask us if it's a family name - but DH is Korean with all Korean family names and my Dad's name is Otto.... so NOPE... we just liked it!

We went with DH's great-grandmother for first name and my grannie for middle name. They've both passed away and we were very close, so it felt right.

I'd loved her name for years, and it's particularly appropriate to the time of year when she was born. Both her first and middle are saints who have feast days around her birth. DH fell in love with her middle when checking other December feasts in Lives of the Saints.

@kjpugs: It's a fab name website. You can look up names individually, read blogs about different names, or chat with other parents/name nerds in their forums. http://nameberry.com/
