at my 18 week ultrasound the tech refused to tell us. so a few days later the receptionist at my doctor's office called to tell me then i had to call my husband at work. it kinda sucked

@loki: Why did your tech refuse to tell you? That just seems odd.

@MrsBananaGrabber: i guess it's the policy at certain places. just wish they had told us that was a possibility when we booked the appointment! we told everyone we were going to find out and my husband took the day off work and we were SO excited. so it was a horrible experience. i was really sad.

i found out at the 19 week ultrasound.
@loki: that's horrible! i was a bit upset that DH was not allowed in the room for the duration of the ultrasound exam (anatomy scan). They said he can only come in for the last 5 minutes to see the baby, so i asked to wait to hear the gender until he was in the room.

DD1: U/S with DH in the room at 19 weeks.
DD2: U/S with my mom in the room at 17 weeks. DH gave me the go ahead (he was out of town on business for this U/S and couldn't attend) to find out and then I surprised him when he got home!

I was having a biopsy done the week before my anatomy and the kind nurse said she would print out some pictures so I can hold them while I had it done. It was then confirmed at my anatomy scan but the shots done at the hospital were undeniable

With my first we had the tech call my mom. Who then called the Celtics (we had previously set this up) then we were at a Cs/Heat game and at the first timeout of the game it said the sex of our baby on the jumbotron! Ha. It was awesome. All husbands idea
Trying to think of something equally fun for baby 2.

@hellobeeboston: That's awesome!
We had our doc write it in an envelope and then we took the envelope to a bakery and they frosted cupcakes for us. We opened up the bakery box and found out.

DD1 - DH announced it....a few seconds after she was born when the midwife nudged him and told him to move the umbilical cord to see if it was a boy or girl!
DD2 - the second she was born, DH exclaimed "it's a girl!"

@hellobeeboston: Love this. How fun!
We found out at the 18 week scan.
For those who had cell-free DNA or amnio/CVS, was it weird to find out the sex so early? I know we'll have this opportunity with lo2 and am wondering how it feels to find out over the phone instead of at the scan.

First baby 21 weeks at the anatomy scan.
Current Pregnancy I found out after the Harmony Blood Test that's one of the Free Cell DNA tests. My test was at 14 weeks and I had the test on a Tuesday and got the results the following Monday.
