So if you were team green, how did you let family and friends visiting at the hospital or wherever what gender the baby is? I might have asked this before. Did you give out favors or do anything? Or just say "ya, it's a boy."

It was just us at the hospital. My husband sent a few texts and called our parents.

To the very important people in our lives, DH will just send a text with the sex/name and whatnot.

We first sent a pic w/ her name to MIL (she won a "guess baby's birthday" poll we had) and then for everyone else we just posted her pic with her name & stats.... figure noone was going to confuse "P______" as a boy name. lol

We sent a text to family saying its a girl. We hadn't 100% decided on her name so it was a cliff hanger- it's a girl, name tbd. Then we sent another text to friends and family saying its a girl with name and birth stats. We only had my parents and bil visit in the hospital (which was awesome).

My ILs were in the room with us when he was born, and with our okay she emailed out the birth info to immediate family. DH called my parents, my BFF and my other SIL.
We made a blanket FB statement late that night, to the tune of "DH and I thrilled to announce the birth of our SON, Evan Charles McK at 1:31 PM. 8lbs, 12oz and 20" long. Pictures soon."
We hadn't been planning on making a public announcement like that so soon, but my father started posting about it to my siblings (who I don't really talk to)...

i wasn't team green, but a friend of mine just was. she sent a text to close family and friends saying "Baby Boy ____ is here!" with his stats. then she posted something similar on FB a few hours later.

Would it be dumb if I handed out pink or blue bubblegum cigars at the birthing center as a way to tell people?

This is one of the best moments of my day...we had brought one pink and one blue onesie with us for baby to come home in. After she was born, DH went out into the waiting room and held up the pink onesie. I could hear our fan club (as the nurses lovingly refered to them as) cheering and crying as the doctor was doing all the afterbirth stuff. Brought the biggest smile o my face!!
