How did you let family and friends know? (Not DH)

We just told hubs' parents during lunch one day. We were going to wait and tell them later in a cute way, but I couldn't hold it in. With my parents, we went to dinner & I gave my mom a print out of a bunch of cribs. We just moved into a new house, and she had been helping me look for furniture. I just said, "I found a few pieces that I really like... what do you guys think?" It took them a second, but then there were screams and water works in the middle of the restaurant.

I told my sisters & mom over brunch one Saturday. DH just called and told his parents over the phone. I didn't do anything cute...just shared the info

We sent them packages with a framed picture of the ultrasound with a card telling them we were pregnant. I think we also included a hallmark book about grandparents. We live in the same city as our parents but did not want to tell them in person since we knew they were going to blubber. We're not center of attention kind of people.

Gave a grandma picture frame to my mom with a photo of the positive test. Gave a necklace that said 'aunt' to my sister. Gave a frame that said a bunch of cute things, including 'baby', to my MIL. Everyone else was either in the room when the gift was given or told by phone :).

For our close family and friends, we just called them! For everyone else, we sent out Christmas card announcements.

Dh's family we told when we all got together a few days before Christmas. Nothing special, just, so... We have news...
My family, since we were with dh's family for Christmas, we facetimed with them when they were all together for Christmas eve and told me. There were lots of screams and we got passed around to everyone in te room. It was a bigger deal than I expected and really fun.
Friends were are just slowly telling them as we see them.

We just gave them a scan picture and let them work out what it was! MIL cried!
