This is going to sound really dumb, but I'm pretty clueless about this.

If I get an iphone, does the data limit only count towards being online, or does it also get used up if on apps? I had a smartphone for a few months last year, and never went over my data limit, but I'm afraid that if I get an iphone now, I'll go over my limit...
