I have never heard it pronounced anyway other than "gram," but I was reading today that it should actually be pronounced "grey-hahm," like this:
If you say it with an emphasis on "grey" and live in the U.S., what region are you from?

I have never heard anything but "gram" and have lived in the Midwest, northeast and southwest.

I pronounce it gray-em (I can't watch the video, so maybe that's the same as gray-hahm?), and that seems to be the most common pronunciation around here. I'm from Canada though. I hadn't heard the name pronounced "gram" until a few years ago.

@Willow: that's basically the same pronunciation as the video. I'm wandering if it's a U.S. thing to say "gram."

@mrsjyw: One of my co-workers is named Graeme... he's in our London office, so I thought that version was the British spelling of it.

Gray-ahm.... But I'm British and it's pretty much always pronounced that way there.

I'm not sure if I just don't pay attention or if I live in a bubble, but like @travelgirl1 I say "gray-um" or some close variation. It's my dad's middle name, and I am now feeling like I should ask him how he says it! I am in Toronto.

I pronounce it "gram". I live in the south and honestly haven't really paid much attention to how others say it, but to me it sounds like a southern pronunciation. Like how "pen" can have 2 syllables

Gray-am. I knew a kid in highschool named this and that is how he and everyone else pronounced his name.

Gram. That's bil's name and I've only ever heard him called gram, except when we think we are funny and say GRAYYYY-yem. We live in the northeast be he has family in the Midwest and northwest.
When I see Graeme I think of it more with a hard A said, closer to gray-em.

I pronounce this Gram but I know a guy named Graeme, pronounced Grey-am so both are familiar.

Wow! I've never heard 'Gram' before! I've only known/heard Gray-ums (but I'm Canadian)

I can't imagine anything other then gram.
Gray-em crackers? That sounds ridiculous

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one that says and had only heard "gram." My mind was kind of blown by the grey-um.

I pronounce it Gram but it was funny - my grandma who grew up in Belgium was recently baffled by this name/pronunciation when one of her friends had a great grandchild named graham. It was very cute - she just could not say it.

@prettylizy: @Mrs. Oatmeal: Must be a Canadian/British thing because I've only ever heard Gray-um before too!

I've always said it the way it's pronounced in the video. I'm on the East Coast...my family is from the Midwest which is where my pronunciation influence comes from. I'd actually never really heard it pronounced Gram til one of the guys on the Bachelorette said it that way on tv. Ha.

I just realized dh's English grandmother says gram just fine- though she has lived in the us for 50 years or so.
I like both pronunciations so it wouldn't bother me in this case, that people might pronounce it wrong. I love the name, but it's already taken in our family.

I've never heard it any other way besides Gram! I've lived up and down the West Coast.
