When we saw the pediatrician yesterday, he talked to us about a few things. He is a firm believer that medicine should only be used if it is absolutely necessary and he sticks to tried and true ways of parenting.
He suggested rice cereal for baby's first food and when I brought up studies that said arsenic could be in rice cereal, he almost laughed at me. He doesn't believe the hype one study found. He also talked to me extensively about the medicine we have M on for her reflux to make sure she still needed it.
I have a feeling if I had been feeling better and wanted to sit in there longer, I would have had a REALLY fun time with him if I mentioned BLW.
I actually appreciate his way of working with us. He listens and gives us his true opinion on things. He doesn't mince words but he will tell us if he thinks what we are doing/thinking of doing is a good idea or not.
How does your pediatrician react to your ideas or suggestions that may not be his/her personal preference?
