We have been patiently waiting 3 years to get a BFP! In August we received the surprise of our lives when I got a positive test. I recently turned 12 weeks and we decided to share the news with close friends...we told our immediate families as soon as we had a positive test. We are debating about sharing the news with the world via FB...we were also in the process of adopting and acquaintances always ask for updates and my DH thinks announcing the pregnancy and an adoption update now is a good idea...I think he's just so excited he can't wait to tell the world. Is it too early to share with "friends" on FB?

We told family around 9 weeks and gradually others after that. I think 12 weeks is a good time to tell friends but I would wait a bit longer to tell "the world" on Facebook.

We told friends by phone/email at 14 weeks (because I had a doc appointment that week and wanted to see baby one more time before the announcement). Still haven't announced on FB though..

We told fb a little after 12 weeks.
I wanted some time after my 12 week apt to tell close family and friends in person and on the phone, so my rule was no facebook until we could do that. Honestly I didn't even want to do facebook because I had a previous miscarriage so telling anyone in general freaked me out let alone the whole facebook world, but my mom was so excited I just couldn't tell her no.

We told DH's family at 7 weeks (at Christmas), my parents after our first ultrasound at 8 weeks, and Facebook at 13 weeks, after our first trimester screening results came back.

@artbee: That's kind of where I'm at...I don't want to announce it on FB, but my DH is so excited as is the rest of our family that they're dying to say something or for us to share something. When I looked at our "friends" on there, I realized we really are "friends" with most of the people on FB, so I guess it wouldn't be so terrible to share, especially since so many of those people have been so supportive of our fertility issues and adoption process.

We told family and close friends between 5 and 11 weeks, and the rest of the world around 16, after part 1 of our anatomy scan.

i voted wrong. oops! haha... i meant to click the first, but clicked the second by accident. just add one more to before 12 weeks, and subtract one from around 12 weeks.
we told parents and siblings at about 4-5 weeks as soon as i found out, and we told everyone else after we had our first ultrasound at 9 weeks. we heard the heartbeat, and then almost immediately shared the picture on facebook! i'm not superstitious, and i was excited.

I told my SIL after the positive test, we told parents at 7 weeks, grandparents and Facebook at 10 weeks, and my students at 12 weeks. I was pretty chicken to come all the way out of the baby closet, one of my co-workers finally outed me.

We told immediate family members (parents + siblings) as soon as we found out. We waited until the end of the first trimester to tell the rest of the world.

Congratulations! We told family early on - 5 weeks or so. Facebook came later after our anatomy scan at 20 weeks.

We told our families and a few close friends around 6 weeks. We made a facebook announcement at 13 weeks, right after we got the results of our NT scan - I just couldn't keep it secret any longer!

We told early, then lost the baby at 20 wks. With our next pregnancy, family will still know immediately, but we will wait until 20 wks for everyone else. We probably won't do a big fb announcement.

@emg86: Honestly I was freaked out until the very end about my pregnancy. I'm a worrier by nature. Everyone around me was excited, and it was so hard for me to be. I didn't want to put the nursery together, buy things for the baby, etc. All of those milestones, steps, etc. just freaked me out. But they're things that you have to do to prepare for the baby, I figured everyone else does them and still has healthy babies, and my LO ended up coming out nice and healthy too.
Do whatever feels right for you though!

We told parents and sibling between 6-9 weeks. Close friends around 9-10 weeks. Extended family 15 weeks, along with work. Still haven't made the announcement on FB. We will next week once we know the gender. Although I was tagged in a picture over the weekend, where I clearly have a belly.

We told immediate family (parents and siblings) the day of the BFP. Uncles/aunts and cousins after the 8 week scan. I keep accidentally letting it slip to close friends when I hang out with them because it's so hard to NOT say it!!! But officially I want to wait until after the NT scan to really start telling people. If I can hide it long enough I'll tell work around 14 weeks and am not planning to make a Facebook announcement.

I waited to tell work, FB, etc until after the 20 week ultrasound.

We told family and close friends right away. I told everyone else a few days ago...at almost 13 weeks after our NT scan.

We told family around 8 weeks, and shared it with everybody after our NT scan about halfway through our 12th week. I was initially against doing it on Facebook, but DH wanted to.

we never made a big announcement.I told my parents at 11 weeks and his parents at 13 weeks and everyone else just kinda found out when they ran into us

We've gradually told people, especially since I wanted to tell many people in person, and it's hard to make schedules work sometimes. We told close family at 12 weeks, close friends weeks 13-15, some family at week 16. DH e-mailed many of his friends who all tend to live far away from us at 16 weeks. Some friends still don't know, but I wanted to tell them in person, and I'll be visiting them this weekend. We won't be making a Facebook announcement.

We told immediate family right away, and then our extended circle at about 13 weeks. I would have waited 'til 16 or 18 weeks but my husband couldn't be stopped!

We've told about half the family... the other half will find out within the next month (trying to hit everyone in person, but a lot are out of state so...)
As far as facebook, I want to wait a longer time. Maybe until we know the gender. I'm not really sure but we'll see.

We told family around 9 weeks, work/close friends at around 13/14 and facebook at 19 (I wanted to announce the gender!)
