5 days - I got really sick after giving birth from the preeclampsia. I'm glad I was able to stay because they kept LO, he had a collapsed lung and was jaundiced.

Technically 3 nights since they said our first didn't count since she was born after a certain time. I'm glad we did. Gave us time to get used to her and get questions answered before we were on our own.

Got checked in at 2am on a Tuesday & left around 5pm on Friday. We stayed an extra day due to Thanksgiving & to get help with latching issues.

Almost five full days. I was induced at 37 weeks due to preeclampsia - DD was jaundiced and they couldn't get my BP under control. Hoping for a more normal experience whenever we try again!

One night of labor (checked in at 11pm and LO was born at 9:45am) and then two more nights after the birth. I was torn between wanting the comforts of home, but not wanting to leave the amazing nursing staff.

4 nights both times (c sections). DS1 ran a fever and lost too much weight so we had to stay until he was cleared. DS2 had jaundice so we stayed until his levels were decreasing. He was under the lights almost the whole time.

3 nights total: one to labor, 2 postpartum. I wanted nothing more than to be at home. I couldn't wait to get out of there!!!

with #1 I was there for like 26 hours after. They were letting us go early, around 20 hours, but the lab got backed up and we had to wait for a blood test.
With #2 I was out after 15 hours. We stayed overnight, but were allowed out first thing in the morning which was nice.

Four glorious days after an emergency c-section. Since LO was our first we didn't have any reason to want to hurry home and our hospital was amazing. The food was fantastic and the LC on staff came around a few times a day to give us nursing pointers. I'm sure to this day that is part of the reason we had such a successful breastfeeding journey.
LO spent a few hours in the hospital nursery two of the nights we were there and I got some good sleep to help recover from surgery. Honestly those four days in the hospital are remembered like a honeymoon of sorts - just the three of us getting to know each other, with the aid of nurses and LCs and pediatrician visits just often enough to feel supported. Plus that mechanical bed!!! After a c-section a bed that helps you sit up and lay down is miraculous! I missed it so when I got home from the hospital!

@Nutella: sounds like you may have been at Freemasons (fancy hotel = hyatt?) my SIL and bestie both gave birth there and absolutely loved it.
I'll be a private patient again this time, which is standard 5 nights, though last time I was 6 nights as DD was jaundiced and needed a bit of extra time under lights.

@FannyMae: haha you are correct, yes! I was tempted to try the Park Hyatt but was ridiculously comfortable at the hospital that's great they loved it, would def recommend it.

@Nutella: I stayed at Park Hyatt on my wedding night, and SIL went after her 2nd and 3rd babies were born - it was very quiet and I think if you're a 1st time mum it can be a bit isolating when you really want a midwife to come and help you. I was at mercy with my first as a private patient, but this time I'm going to Northpark as it is closer to home.

One night for LO1 and 12 hrs for LO2 -- I actually like being in the hospital, but it just seemed more convenient to go home early what with the other baby at home and such!

Zero nights! LO was born at home, so, no hospital time at all. The midwives stayed for the first 3 hours after the birth and came for a follow-up visit the next day and three days later.

Ugh 6.5 days including the 36 hour induction, so I guess 5 days? DS had a NICU stay for jaundice and I had a meltdown bc someone was in my room every 30 minutes about something and I was so harassed and touched out I lost it. I hope I can go home fast next time!

24 hours - would have been less but they had to monitor DS for signs of infection as my waters broke 48 hours before he was born. I was on a pp ward with 5 other women and babies, so I was well ready to go home!

Gave birth around 7 am Thursday, went home noon Saturday. I wish it had been less, I didn't sleep well there and DH went home because there was no place for him to sleep.
