I started taking 1/2 a tab of unisom and 25mg b6 in the morning and just before bed. It's been a couple days with not much relief... Do I need to give it a few more days or call the midwife for more aid??

It never worked for me and I ended up needing a prescription for Zofran to even come close to functioning. Longest 17 weeks of my life. But hopefully, you will respond better.

It never really worked for me either. Instead of only being able to lay in bed all day puking, I was mostly able to resume normal activity with puking breaks.

Ugh I was hoping I'd see a lot of "it worked!" comments. I took Zofran until week 30 (just 1 pill a day and towards the end, every other day) but just read an article about how it's no longer being ok'd by the FDA (I think?) due to I believe it was possible heart issues? So I don't know how I will survive my next pregnancy Hope you can get some relief!!!

It works for me (taking it well into 2nd tri!) and if it hasn't worked for you after a few days I'd call. Every time I've tried it I've had relief within one dose. The timing has always been key, though. It never worked for me to do morning and just before bed; I had to work out a time either just before or after breakfast and just before dinner or else the nausea would get become too much for the meds.
@kjpugs: That blog post turned out to be a scare tactic based on false information, so don't worry!

@spaniellove: there was an FDA page about it, which is what scared me! I just posted about it in a new thread- see if that's the "blog post" that you are talking about? I'm curious!

@kjpugs: Yes it is! I think there's also a previous thread about this on HB:

I took 50mg of b6 and a half unisom before bed and it worked like a charm. It kicked it right away.

If it isn't working for you, you can up the Unisom or the B6 a little bit as needed. I did a full tab of unisom and 50 mg of B6 and that did the trick. Check with your doc if you are unsure about upping it.

I took the combined prescription version of this (in Canada), and it took a few days to start working. But if you're not getting relief after like 4-5 days, I would call and just see what your doc recommends.

You ladies are wonderful. I just put a call in to my midwives and they're going to call back shortly to discuss. I just feel so bad for DS. I'm such a lame playmate at the moment
