Last week, I had my second round of blood work in connection with the serial sequential testing we chose (genetic testing). At 12 weeks, I had an NT scan and blood draw and last week (16 weeks) had another blood draw. I had my blood draw Wednesday and haven't heard anything about my results yet (it's Tuesday now). Is that odd? I am inclined to call to see if my results are in, but I had being THAT patient. Thoughts?

I honestly don't remember. I don't think I ever got a call about my blood work since everything was fine. My OB went over everything at my next appt. Said all was well.

@chopsuey119: They said they would call within a few days....and it's been more than a few days. I'm not nervous, more curious than anything else. I don't have another appt with my midwife until 12/30 so I'd prefer to know before then. Why do I always feel so guilty about calling my doctor?!

I got mine back within a business day or two. I was told I would only be contacted if there was something wrong with it though. I would call if you're curious, but hopefully no news is just good news!
ETA: just saw you mention they said they'd call. I would follow up for sure, don't feel guilty!

@winniebee: You shouldn't feel guilty! I called them for everything. haha. I call my pediatrician whenever too! Give them a call!

I would call. My stupid lab spelled my name wrong and the results were on hold for a very long time. It never hurts to double check esp. if it's your health. I didn't call because I felt like that too, but in the end of the day, you need to be your own advocate!

it depends on what they told you to expect. My OB only calls me if there is something wrong with my results. If everything is normal she goes over it with me at my next appointment. So no news = good news to me

@winniebee: Awesome about your results!! Both my OB/GYN and GP can email results through the email system for the network. When my OB/GYN did some testing (HIV), she called me two days later with the results.

In Cali, our sequential testing all happens through some state system, and it takes up to 2 weeks for the results to come in. I know that my doctor always calls right away if something negative comes up, so I usually go by the saying of no news is good news. It might be different w/ your doctor though.

i think i got my results the next day or the day after! i'd call! sometimes they're so busy they forget or they'll update you at the next appointment.
