Right now I work 42 or 43. I would love to work 32 hours per week!

I used to work 50, but reduced to 35 when I had LO. It's the perfect schedule! I have so much more balance now.

Currently between 42-45, that will change in August. If I didn't have 45 min plus commute each way I don't think it would be too bad.

@petunia354: Do you work 4 days or spread over 5?

I work between 30-35 each week over 4 days and its still overwhelming. I don't know how you ladies who work more do it, pre-baby I never felt exhausted until 45+ but now its all just exhausting. I also do daycare dropoff/pickup and have a 20 min commute so I'm sure that doesn't help.

45, though my bosses hate overtime so I pretty much only get paid for 40. So annoying

I will be working 21 starting in a few weeks. Will bump to 24 when they are comfortable with me doing stuff at home.

It was between 45-50. Since I began my third trimester, I've made an attempt to dial it back to around 42-43.

I work 32h on 4 days and have that one day as a buffer when we have dr's appointments etc.

Hmm...do you mean actual work vs. being in the office? For me, they are two different things. I'm only in the office about 32 hours per week, but I often bring home work. How much I do at home varies by week as well.

I started working a half time schedule in May (a little over 20 hours a week) and it's been really nice. I used to work 32 hr but ended up working 40 and getting paid for only 32, which sucked!

I'm paid to work 40 hours a week but I've been trying to work 44 bc they let you bank time.

How do so many of you lucky people have full-time jobs where you work under 40 hours a week? I've never had a job where I've worked less than 45 a week average. And since I've always been salary, we don't get overtime.
Maybe it's just my industry...

@night cheese: same here. Sure, my "schedule" is for 40 hours a week but i often come in early/stay late and we dont get overtime either
I'm in financial services.

@night cheese: That's why I differentiated between being in the office and work. When I took my job, LO was 5 months, so I negotiated that I could work from home on Fridays. I also travel once per month and often bring work home. The lines of work hours are very blurred for me.

Would be so nice to have an under-40 hours week. My hours are anywhere between 40 and 50, and I feel like a slacker compared to my coworkers. Fortunately, I only have to put in 40-ish in the office, the rest can be at home

Depends on the week. sometimes it is 30. sometimes it is 45+

40.
@night cheese, 32.1 hours is considered "full time" at my company. We're salaried but get OT because it's all government contract work. I'm in the defense industry, though, which is....special.

For the most part, I'm physically in the office probably 35 a week?
pomegranate / 3863 posts
@autumnlove: spread over 5. Although 4 days would probably be ideal!

@blackbird: haha, yes! I agree the defense industry is "special." That's my industry too.

42 - 45 hours, depending on the week. I also don't take a lunch break, but I didn't count that.
pomegranate / 3388 posts
Definitely more than 40 hours. It depends on the week. During the academic year I probably work 70-80 some weeks. More typical is probably 50ish. I'm only in the office 3-4 days per week typically though.
