I hear you should increase fluids while pregnant, but by how much? So how many total oz should you drink per day? I really don't think I drink enough, despite my many bathroom trips.

I have no idea on a number, but I know I've just been really thirsty the whole time and am always drinking. I never focused on getting a certain amount in since i could see I was drinking SO much. Then peeing SO much...

Same as @Foodnerd81, I don't know exact numbers, but I know that I am SO thirsty all the time. I went from drinking MAYBE a cup or two of water a day to probably over 2 litres. I've also read that lots of fluids can help decrease intensity of Braxton Hicks contractions, so that encourages me as well.

I drank a ton of water while pregnant. I aimed for about 90 oz a day, if not more.

When I went to the hospital for dehydration, they told me a gallon a day! So, quite a bit!!

Well I know that when not pregnant you're supposed to drink atleast 1/2 your body weight in oz a day (can't remember who told me this but it was someone that should know)... so I imagine an obscene amount of water a day while pregnant should be good!
I have a 52oz Bubba Keg that I *try* to fill & drink twice a day... sometimes I'm lucky to drink it's once though.

This baby center article says 64 fl oz: http://www.babycenter.com/404_how-much-water-should-i-drink-while-im-pregnant_5283.bc
But I know I'm drinking a lot more. I'm drinking like 100 fl oz of water/day plus all the other drinks I have. I'm SO thirsty all the time though. I have a Contigo water bottle that is 24 fl oz and I keep it with me all day. I think it really helps me drink the water.
If you are worried you could always set alarms on your phone to drink a bottle by a certain time....I did that when I was trying to loose some weight and it really helped!

My ambiotic fluid was always measuring low thru my entire 2nd pregnancy. My ob made me drink a gallon of water a day. It killllled me!

@debbiei8: That sounds really on the low side since that's how much they suggest to drink when not pregnant. hmmmm

This has been my best friend in the third trimester to beat the heat and avoid being swollen. I go through probably 4 a day? It doesn't seem like much of an effort though because it's like a giant sippy cup! Also adding lemon to my water has been delicious!

@char54: I just got a new water bottle it's not that kind but I ended up getting a glass one with a rubber protector and I love it. I'm really sensitive to the taste of plastic so this one seems to help that weird issue of mine

If you are having a hard time getting enough water, my midwife recommended coconut water too. It has the same electrolyte type benefits as Gatorade but it's more natural. I've become obsessed with it with this heat. DH comes home and sees me drinking straight from the big liter sized bottle
