I bought a townhome in my late 20s. DH was 37 when he/we bought our current home which was his first home purchase.

29 for me, we had been married less than 2 years living apart. DH was still living in the second home he purchased. I don't recall when his age when he bought his first house, but maybe 25/26.

@Mrs. Pen: I was 25 and DH was 29. We'd just gotten engaged and had been together for a year.

I was 29 and my husband was 33. We bought our house 7 months after our wedding (after spending those newlywed months living with my parents. Romance!)

We bought a few months before we got married - I was 27 and DH was 34. He owned a smaller home at the time, though (in a location that wouldn't work for my commute) and we relied heavily on his savings. If I had to save up a siren payment myself it would have been a few more years, I think.

Still haven't, and I am 34. We don't plan to buy until after I get out of the military. (At least another 7-8 years).

I bought a condo while single at 26 & again at 37, then met DH less than 6mos after the 2nd one. He'd built the house we live in now & so we renovated my condo & I sold it just over 2yrs after buying it & 6 mos after we were married. We'll likely sell "his" house & move in the next 3-5 yrs.

We are still renting. I am 30 and DH is 33, and I don't see us buying a house anytime soon. We live in a high cost of living area, and we don't think we want to stay here.

I was 23, and DH was 26 when we bought our home. We got married 8 months later.

I am closing on my new house Thursday. I'm 29 and DH is 36. This is my first house but not DH. We've been married 4 years.

We're in our late 20s, 2 kids, married 6+ years, and still renting. We live in a high cost of living area. I don't make that much but dh makes a good amount and we're still making nowhere near enough, and the inventory is low too.
We do have the down payment but anything we could find in our budget would still be nowhere near as nice as our rental or in a way worse neighborhood.

We were both 26 - together for 8 years, married for 3 years. But we waited until after we bought a house to have kids... I'm pretty sure it would have taken a lot longer to save up a down payment if we'd been paying for daycare too!

I was 35. We lived in SF for almost 10 years, so yeah, as soon as we moved out of the Bay Area we bought our first home within 8 months. Later than most people but it was the right timeline for us.

I was 26 and DH was 24, We had just gotten engaged and were married one year later. Still in that house!

Dh and I had been together for about a year and we bought a house in our 30s.

DH bought when he was 27, right before we met. We bought together 3 years later, when I was 27 and he was 30.

We were 26, had been living together for 4 years, and got married 2 years later. (Originally bought the house in my name only, and then refinanced post-marriage in both names after a remodel)

26 with my then boyfriend, now ex-husband. Hindsight and all that

I was 29 and single. DH and I had just started seriously dating (but we'd been "just seeing each other" for about 4 years)
We bought our second house together when I was 35 and he was 42. I'm glad we waited a few years into our marriage (we'd been married 3 years) to attempt buying a house because it made compromising our priorities a little bit easier. I think it would have been a mess had we tried to do it as newly weds.

I'm 33 and DH is 34 and we still don't own a house Entirely bc we live in NYC where it's just not feasible. We will move soon and hopefully buy a house, I'm tired of renting!

@Mrs. Pen: I was 25 DH was 26 it was during the Obama Tax credit for First time homebuyers so it was a no brainer to try

We were both 30 when we bought it together. Married 1 year, and our first was ~4 months (she was a surprise). Pretty much the first opportunity we had as I had grad school and didn't start a fulltime job until I was almost 27 and DH has just graduated at 28! We live in a fairly low COL area.

I was 26 he was 28. We had been married for like 3 months. LOL
Seems quick but we were together for a long time before then. Already lived together for 4 years. We saved a ton, our wedding we paid for ourselves and paid for out right.

DH was 27 when he bought a condo. I moved in when we were married 2 years later. We then bought our forever home when I was 29 and he was 30. We currently rent the condo, and plan on keeping it for quite a while.

I was 23 and he was 25, and we actually weren't married yet. Technically our first house was only in his name, but we househunted together and made the decision together, and both paid the bills. We'd only been dating for a year and a half at the time, but had already been living together for close to a year.

I was 29 when we purchased our condo. We closed 6 weeks after we got married. Last year, we sold it to buy our house in the suburbs. So, it was good to us for 6 years of marriage and two kids later.

I was 26. Dh moved into the house with me, and we still live here.

Old compared to these other responses!! LOL.. I was 36 and dh was 33, we had been married 1 yr.

We closed on our house like 3-4 months before our wedding; I was 28, I think? Haha.

I was 31 and DH was 35, after 3 years of marriage. We've been here just under a year (started looking at this time last year, closed in early January).
