@septca: ahh I see! In my hometown, it's MUCH cheaper to rent than buy so hardly anyone I know owns a house. In the UK, both are crazy expensive haha so don't know really when we'll manage to buy. It's amazing that you and your DH managed it, I'm in awe!

@imbali: cheap real estate here! Our mortgage payments on our first home was only like $100 more than our rent.
If we decided to settle in NYC a house probably wouldn't have happened till 30+ -
@locavore_mama: Same here - our mortgage, taxes and insurance are $125/month cheaper on our 3 bedroom home than our rent was on our 2 bedroom apartment!

I'm 26 & we just closed on our first house yesterday!

28: bought a townhouse with DH, then bf (just made the cutoff to get the 8k credit), 31: bought our forever home as a married couple
