How soon after getting a positive test did you announce your pregnancy to your immediate family (not friends, or extended family)? Or what is your plan if you haven't announced it yet?

told our parents as soon as we confirmed with our RE (about 5 weeks). but didn't tell our brothers until later.

We told our local immediate family (his parents & brother and my mom) the night after we got our BFP. I told my dad about 4 days after the BFP.
We figured that if something were to go wrong, we would want the support of our families and wouldn't mind having them know about our loss.

I didn't want my Mom knowing just because of her big mouth. We'll tell her and my Dad 2 days before 12 weeks (I voted for 12 weeks). I'm freaking itching to tell them already!!!

I think I would probably have to tell my mom almost immediately after finding out, but i would love to do it creatively.

My family knew right away. I waited until after my first ultrasound at 7 weeks to announce it to everyone else and make it "facebook official".

We told at the end of the first trimester with Moose, but didn't tell people about Wombat until they "caught" me pregnant, belly-showing.

I will probably tell my mom after poas--but rest of family at maybe 8 weeks. Friends and others as needed!

I think I'd have to tell my mom immediately (like a lot of others said). She's good with a secret though. Other than that I don't think we'd plan to tell anyone else until it became too obvious to hide anymore.

We told our immediate families when I was 10 weeks pregnant (it coincided with Christmas and we gifted them with grandparent/uncle paraphenalia) but we asked them not to tell anyone until the hubs and I were ready to officially announce. MIL couldn't keep her big mouth shut and ended up telling dozens of people!

We managed to get our parents together a week after our BFP and told them then, around 6 weeks. We told grandparents, etc later that night, church friends the next day, and facebook a few days after that. We knew that if anything happened, we'd want people's support.

So I didn't vote because I fall into a few different categories. I told my mom right away, pretty much as soon as I peed on the stick because I was so shocked our IUI may have worked and hubby wasn't home. Then we told his dad and sister when I was just over 5 weeks, after it had been confirmed by the RE via blood test. We were going to Vegas for a friends wedding when I was only 6 weeks and it was so much easier to tell our friends than try to hide it, especially since they all knew were were going through fertility treatments anyway. Even though we told all these people we made sure that they wouldn't spread the news, that was something we wanted to do. Plus if something happened we would have wanted their support anyway.

I completely wanted to wait until 12 weeks, and that's exactly what we planned... but he couldn't contain himself when we went to my moms that night for my sisters birthday, and we ended up telling her then. So of course we called his parents when we got home.

I'll tell our moms right away (if I miscarry, we'll need their support), but otherwise, we'll wait for a heartbeat.
