Did you gain the recommended weight range for your body type? AND did you gain it steadily, like the 1 lb/week recommended, OR did it come in spurts?

I gained the lower end of my recommended range (20 lbs). I gained most of it in the second trimester. If I remember correctly, my weight gain really slowed down my last month. I think I actually lost a few pounds.

i'm only 25 weeks, so i'm not sure what will happen as i approach the 3rd trimester, but so far i think i'm on track. i've gained 11 pounds so far - 9 of those were in the second trimester! i think the average is something like 30-35 pounds, and i can't imagine i'll reach that, but we'll see!

Totally unbalanced gain for me. None in the first trimester, 8 lbs in the second. And so far in the third I've gained 32 lbs. And I still have a few more weeks to go...

I think I gained the most during the second trimester, during the summer/vacations. My gain has plateaued in the third trimester, during the cooler months. Overall it's been pretty steady.

@highwire - That's my fear! A couple of my friends have told me they ballooned up the last two months!

I gained way more than I should have.... and most of it was in the beginning. Because I gained so much at first I had to really watch what I ate in the end.

Very steady and I started my weight gain too early. I ate really well and still don't understand why I gained what I did but I am doing well now so... eh.
ETA green line is gaining 25lbs, blue line would be gaining 35 lbs and the goal was to be in between those.

I gained slightly less than the lower end of recommended weight (21lbs) but I didn't really gain anything until 16+ weeks. It was steady at about 1-2lbs per appointment after that, tapering off around 35-36 weeks.

I am 37 weeks now and gained the most during first and second! Im at 35-37 lbs total depending on the time of day only 10 lbs during third trim. 10-12 in first, 17 lbs in second!

I am still at the lower end if the recommended weight gain (should have gained 25-35) and have only gained about 18 so far. The majority was spread equally between 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Going to be 39 weeks tomorrow!

I gained 26, which is "healthy" I guess, but it definitely came on in spurts.

I lost about 8 in the first nine-ten weeks. I'm 11w3d and am at -6 compared to pre-pregnancy. I just started feeling better in the past 4-5 days, so I'm hoping for slow, steady gain from here on out.

I didn't gain a single pound until I was 30 weeks, and now I've gained about 12 pounds at 37w3d.

I think mine has been steady...TBH, I'm only just now paying attention to the numbers since I'm nearing the end, and I didn't want to obsess or feel bad about weight gain for my whole pregnancy. I just tried to make healthy choices (definitely allowed myself the occasional splurge) and stay active at the gym. At my 34 week appt on Fri, I am up exactly 25 lbs. I am hoping to keep it at 30! So we'll see!

Mine was in spurts...between some appts I'd gain 0, and between others I'd gain 7-9. It slowed down toward the end of third tri. In total, I gained 32, which was in the recommended range for me.

I gained 0 in first trimester and I'm only 2 weeks into the 2nd and mt scale said I'd lost 3 lbs yesterday morning but I'm feeling better and eating more so I'm watching to keep my weight gain to a minimum. I started this over weight and am not to gain much of anything if possible.

I lost a few lbs in the first trimester, gained normally in the second and then like crazy in the third. I'm 5'6 and normally 135 lbs. I weighed 190 lbs. the day I went into labor!
No worries, though, after 10 mos to a year PP I had lost all the weight and then some! I just breastfed exclusively for 6 mos and continued to BF (still do lol!) I eat semi-healthy (not counting the 4 peanut butter cups I just scarfed down) and "work out" by cleaning the house, vigorous shopping and chasing a toddler.

Mine came in spurts, but I gained a lot in my first and second trimester, and then slowed down in my third. At one point in the beginning of my third trimester, i lost a pound, but had gained it back and then some by the next appointment. I ended up gaining 36 total, which was a little more than I wanted to, but not so bad!

Thanks for all the input ladies! I think the scariest it seems like is gaining most in the last trimester. Both of my friends that did that gained more than the recommended. One has a 1 1/2 y/o and still BF but she still has an extra 10lbs to lose.

I gained 33. Nothing in the first and 20 lbs in the second and the rest in the 3rd....I think that was the approximate breakdown!

I gained about 30 total, a little more than I should have. There was a huge jump from my before Christmas appt and my after Christmas appt at the end of my second tri.
