I was in the "everything in moderation" camp. However, I was hyper aware of sushi and fish consumption because my pregnancy with J was around the time the tsunami in Japan happened, and there was all that talk about radioactive waters.

I ate anything I wanted! My doc just mentioned soft cheese and raw meat/seafood as foods to avoid.

I have something with caffeine a few times a week but I have really avoided everything else that is on the do not eat list.

I was pretty by the book with DD
This pregnancy I'm a lot more lax. I've had cookie dough, soft serve ice cream, sandwich meats....a big part of it is because I'm so busy chasing DD I sometimes forget I'm pregnant. It's different than my first time when I had pregnancy on the brain 24/7
No alcohol though....I'm not a big drinker so I actually enjoy the excuse to abstain

I'm also super lax. I had a cup of coffee every day in the first tri, 2 per day now in the 2nd tri. I eat deli meat. Drink herbal tea. I always have the first sip of DH's beer. Only thing I haven't done is eat sushi. I just can't imagine these things are really bad in moderation!

Extremely lax. I don't eat a lot of fish, but I would watch my mercury if I did. I don't use caffeine, but if I did, I'd continue. I don't drink much, but I wouldn't worry about a small serving each day if I was a drinker. I've checked the CDC page on listeria a few times to make sure there are no outbreaks in my area - that's my only real concern.

Very lax. My OB laughed about all the crazy "bad" foods you see online. He said don't smoke and don't drink but anything else (including caffeine) is fine in moderation. He said his own wife had a cup of coffee every day of all of her pregnancies!

I've been pretty lax in general, but when I eat foods from the no-no list I am pretty careful that it's from a reputable place. I've had sushi and fro-yo from places with A ratings from the health dept, but avoided grocery store sushi and soft serve from ice cream trucks. The only big craving I haven't given into yet (besides rare beef) are raw oysters, and I think I might cave on that sometime this week. I can't stop thinking about them! And even if worse comes to worst, I'm pretty sure vibrio doesn't cross the placenta - it just makes mama miserable.

Lax. Reading Expecting Better by Emily Oster really helped me along, the research and well presented information made me feel empowered to make educated decisions.

I've completely avoided alcohol, deli meat, and sushi, and only have 1 soda every 2 weeks or so. In general though, after the first month or so I stopped eating super healthy food. At first I was making sure I was getting the right amounts of protein, iron, etc., and now I'm mostly just back to eating what I would normally eat (while avoiding the no-no foods) and sometimes remembering to eat slightly healthier than usual.

Not so much, I guess. I have caffeine every morning now that I'm out of the first tri (I couldn't really stomach coffee then). And I eat lunch meat cold at least once a week. Last week I had it like 3x. But, once was from a good sandwich place, and the other times was Boars Head meat I got at the Publix deli. Honestly, I think I am more likely to get listeria from canteloupes or something.
I don't drink at all. I haven't had any sushi but if I really wanted some if I would probably have it from a good quality place.
Frozen yogurt/soft serve: uh, yes. I eat this if I want it. If I'm out running errands I love to stop at a fast food place and get a cone. LOL.
I definitely don't eat undercooked/raw meats, and I'm not a huge seafood eater so I've only had fish twice, I think, so that's not a real concern.
And, probably the worst one, I have a Diet Coke or some other type of diet, artificially-sweetened carbonated drink 1-3x per week!! That I should probably stop.
I try to avoid soft cheese, but I did order a salad at one place that had feta on it. I scraped most of it off but still ate a little.
So, I thought I was being cautious but I guess I am really not!

I followed the rules with LO1 but was super lax with LO2. Everything in moderation and eat from reputable places.

Im pretty relaxed about it. I have eaten sushi, lunch meat, and soft serve on a semi regular basis. My OB said it was ok to eat. The only thing I did not do was drink coffee for the first 4 months, but that was from an aversion. I am back to having my coffee every morning.

I'm like 6/10 on the strictness scale. I've skipped out on the coffee because I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine, but I've eaten cold cuts a few times when my work provided lunch, I had sushi once or twice, I drink herbal teas, etc.

Extremely lax. I have no problem drinking coffee, eating sushi, eating frozen yoghurt, soft eggs, rare meat etc. I just haven't drank any alcohol, but I haven't really felt like it so it hasn't been an issue!
