Before DS2 came along, I think I read every thread about what it is like with two kids and the transition, and it seemed like a common concern. Anyone want to chat /commiserate about how it's going now that #2 (or more) is here?

I'll start. DS 1 is 28 months and DS 2 is almost 3 weeks. The first two weeks were really hard, DS 1 had major regressions in sleep and potty training and was so emotional and clingy. He's gone back to sleeping ok thankfully. He wants to play with his brother but can't so gets in trouble a lot for being too rough even though we try to show him ways to safely interact.
I've had help for the past 3 weeks but every time I think about being solo with both of them I get really anxious. DS 2 isn't sleeping well yet and ds1 has tons of energy which isn't a good combo with my lack of sleep!

@Cherrybee: this week has been rough and it's only Tuesday morning!
Going from having help to watching the kids solo was easier than I expected. The worst part is my newborn doesn't go to sleep easily and my toddler loves to get in trouble when I'm trying to get the baby to sleep. Sometimes I put him in his room while I am rocking the baby, but then I have two kids crying. All the crying is really getting to me.

DD1 is 28 mos, and DD2 is 6 weeks. It's going okay so far. We decided to leave DD1 in daycare full-time, and that's a huge help. I've kept her home a few days, and she ends up watching a ton of tv while I tend to the baby. Overall, she's being great with her baby sister, and my husband definitely spends more time with the oldest these days. I try to make sure I can do bath time and bedtime with her though. I think things will get a lot tougher for us when I go back to work at the end of Sept.

DS1 is turning 3 at the end of the month and DS2 is 6 weeks. The transition has been hard. He is actually helpful and loving towards the new baby, but he is very needy for my attention in particular. He has been testing the boundaries, but it could be linked to turning 3 as well. Luckily we have weekly help from the grandparents so I can have dates with my older son.
