Is it changing anytime soon?
Right now it's pretty good. Daycare is near home and I drop off, my husband picks up. It works for us for now. It will change if we ever move!

I'm very happy. I just clocked it the other day - from our house, to dropping off D at daycare, to work is 6.4 miles. It takes me 15-25 minutes, depending on how clingy D is. I usually do drop-off and pick-up, just because it's more on my way, but Hubs can easily do it if I need him to. We love our center.

It's great. LO loves her school, and it's less than 2 miles from our house. Hubs does drop off (and goes in later) I do pick up (and leave work earlier).
We have another LO on the way who will go to the same day care.
We will need to evaluate summer of 2018 when we gear up for our older LO to start Kindergarden.

It works for now - I WOH FT, so DD is under DH and both grandmas' care during the week. She is 7.5 mo and we plan to send her to daycare part time after she turns 1.

Not good. Our current daycare is closing at the end of the month. We got a 30 day notice. All the daycares we want to get into don't have openings until the kids going into kindergarten start school in the fall. Luckily (?) they have a sister daycare that has one opening we were able to snag. However it's about 25 minutes from our house and about 15 minutes past my work (without traffic and I live in the SF Bay Area so...yeah) so not too convenient. We are hoping it's only a short term move until a spot opens up by our house. I just hate having to move him twice, especially since he has been at his current daycare since he was 15 weeks old (he is 3yrs old now).

@KT326: where are you in the bay? I use a home daycare that I really like.

@MaisyMay: we are in San Jose. There is a center just down the street from us so we are hoping to move him there once they have an opening.

We do a nanny share with another family, we switch off hosting every week. I do drop off and DH does pick up. The share ends at the end of August and she starts preschool on September 1. We will have to travel in the opposite direction (by bus, a 10 minute ride) and same drop off and pick up duties. I can't wait until she's in public school and we can just have a 5 minute walk.

Love our current situation. We took our Dd out of daycare in May and DH was home with her until a few weeks ago. My in laws have her 3 days a week and a SAHM of a coworker a few blocks from my work who has a daughter the same age has her the other two days. It's been wonderful for everyone so far! We liked her daycare and would send her back, buy having her with family most of the time just takes any worries away and it's more convenient for me as far as scheduling goes. Not sure how it will a change once future #2 comes along though.

Yes! We moved and i've been a sahm for the last 7 months. I just accepted a part time job and hired a nanny. Kind of nervous. I've never had a nanny before (although I've been one myself), lo was at a home day care before we moved.

It's been pretty crazy. For the past month LO & I have been staying with my parents who live an hour away from our daycare. DH is already in our new city which we are moving to this weekend. So, two days per week I drive all the way out there and then work at the Starbucks next to her school. With rush hour it can be as much as a four hour round trip so we have been having dinner and running errands out and coming home late to wait out the traffic. Thankfully my mom watches her the other two days per week and I am off on Fridays.
When we move, I am cutting back to just a few hours per week of work, so no more daycare at all! I am so unbelievably happy to be a SAHM which I've always wanted. But I am also nervous about how to handle WAH (even though it will be light) & general life (doctor's appointments, etc.) without childcare.

Right now it's great. Daycare is a 2 min walk from the apartment and both kids love it and are thriving. I also really like their teachers and feel like my LOs are in excellent hands. We have one more year of this and then DS will start the equivalent of kindergarten in 2016. It will be a 15ish min walk, or one stop on the tram. We will have to rethink logistics a bit then.

It's going along just great. My son is thriving in the program he's in, he'll continue for another year and then following that, he will enroll in kindergarten.
My parents are still our before and after care. Working out so well!

It's changing (or has changed). My last day of work was June 24th (until December when my mat leave is over), so LO 1 has been home with me.
But she's about to start a 2-days-a-week preschool program so she has something stimulating to do when LO 2 arrives. It will be her 3rd school in her 2 years! Luckily, she's really adaptable and transitions to new stuff well.

Going well right now. It's near our house and we have our routine down of DH doing dropoff and me doing pickup.
We're planning to move her to a different daycare (more of a preschool) in a year when she turns 3.

Yup! They're looking to expand so we'll see where the new location is.
