I'm a little over 12 weeks and we've told our parents and a handful of friends. We haven't made it fully public knowledge yet. My husband would have told the whole world by now, but I'm the one holding us back. I think it's a combination of fear, but also feeling like any last bit of privacy is gone and the attention will increase (I'm shy). How/when did you decide to just tell everyone?

We told immediate family and friends after our 12 week ultrasound. Then I told my boss around 14 weeks. And I made it FB "public" at 20 weeks, haha.

I'm only 5 weeks along and we told my parents & sister the weekend we found out. I'm very close to my family so it makes no sense not to tell them right away! Even if something happens, I know they'll be there to support me. I also told my bff b/c I promised to tell her right away and I also know she'll be there for me no matter what.
My SIL actually asked us point blank this past weekend so we had to fess up! Turns out she's expecting too! I don't know if she suspected, or she asked because she is? Haha. I am holding off telling DH's parents until we are further along; maybe 8 weeks? I am okay with telling them before the 12 week mark since they're family.
I'm still thinking about what to do after 1st trimester. Probably start by telling other relatives (I'm waiting to tell g-ma & aunts till then), close friends that I don't get to see often, then people I see all the time, and I'm still debating whether to FB it or not!

We told family after we heard the heartbeat at 6-8 weeks. Told close friends and work at 12 weeks. Told "the world" at 16 weeks.

We told immediate family right away (and one or two close friends). We waited until after our 12 week ultrasound to tell the rest of the world

We told our parents at 9 weeks with framed ultrasound photos that said "the best parents get promoted to grandparents." Around 12 weeks we started telling friends when we saw them in person or making several phone calls. We did announcement photos to share with everyone else via facebook.

We told my family at 6 weeks, DH's family at 7 weeks and the world at 13 weeks.

We told a handful of people right away (those who would have known if something happened) and announced it to extended family around 13 weeks, and FB around 15 weeks.

My parents and our BFFs- 4 weeks
His parents, all grandparents/siblings, close friends - 8 weeks (after first ultrasound)
Full public knowledge/told work - 13 weeks -
my first pregnancy, we told our family right away - so that was about 4 weeks. We miscarried that one, and the next time, we waited until heartbeat was confirmed by ultrasound at 8 weeks and told family (parents, siblings). Waited until 14-15 weeks to tell everyone else.

We told our family early, at 5 weeks, because we were in town and I was sick. Local friends and work also pretty early, because we needed the support-6 or 7 weeks. Close friends after our NT scan at 13 weeks, and FB at 25. I was nervous telling our close friends after our NT, but it ended up being great. Everyone was very happy for us.
I say do what feels comfortable. You don't have to do it right away, and you don't have to do it all at once. If you're anxious, go slowly. There's no wrong answer here

We told our parents after the first ultrasound (7.5w), then friends and family after the NT scan (13w). Other than that, we've told people as we've talked to them, but haven't posted anything on FB (and probably won't). I expect some photos to show up there soon though, and I won't try and hide or deny it.

We told my parents at 8 weeks, DH mum at 12 weeks, close family and friends at 14 weeks along with work.
I'm now 15 weeks and will not make it Facebook public until after our 20 week scan. I want the full anatomy scan and to know my baby is fully healthy before making that big announcement to the world. Also I am LOVING having it as still a bit of "our little secret". I think some things are nice to stay personal and stay off Facebook for as long as possible. -
@Mrs.Someone: why did you chose not to Facebook post it? I'm still unsure if we will either. Going to decide in a month but I'm quite inclined not to and DH doesn't use his anyway.

@Mrs tartan: I'm TBD on the FB announcement too, but I have a long while to I have to decide! The reason I would is b/c it's easy, and so people are not trying to guess from cryptic wall posts, or trying to spot a bump in my pictures, etc. On the other hand, I'm afraid I might forget to tell someone and they'd be annoyed that they found out on FB!

@Mrs tartan: I know you didn't ask me, but we almost didn't post to FB either. I didn't want to for a long time because pregnancy announcements hurt so much when we were TTC and struggling with our losses. But in the end, there were a few people who I wanted to know that were most easily accessible through FB, so we decided to do it. We did it right around Christmastime, when I was almost in my third trimester. I'm glad we did, but I'm also glad that we waited until it felt right.

We told our moms immediately, the rest of our families/close friends after our first ultrasound at 8 weeks, and then the rest of the world/facebook around 13 weeks.

@Mrs tartan: I'm not completely sure. Part superstition, part not wanting to share too much with people who aren't close friends.

I waited until something like 17 weeks to tell people at work! I work with a lot of women and just didn't want all the attention right away. I told friends slowly, just as I saw them, didn't do a big announcement. Of course I told my mom and dad right away
