I love my little girl so much but I am realizing I am not cut out to be a sahm (and also couldn't afford to stay home if I wanted to). I need the structure of work. I just wish I could take lo with me to work and have someone watch her there. That would be the best of both worlds. Work and have lo there to pop in on and have lunch with. I'm going to miss her so much when I go back but I know I have to...

Totally, I am not SAHM material. I was happier when I went back to work even though it was even more stressful and tiring than taking care of a baby all day. I enjoyed talking to other people and the change of scenery.

I totally agree. I mean, if we had a million dollars I could be a SAHM but I would want to have the financial flexibility to go shopping, play gyms, etc.
I think I would also love to work like 30 hours a week. I like the idea of having baby with you at work though! I just hate that working a full time job really turns into 10 hour days (after lunch break and commute).

Going back to work worked for me. I also wish I could work part-time, but I have pretty good hours so I can't complain. When I get home in the afternoon it's GREAT to see my babe and have the rest of the day together.
Work is a nice "rest" from being a mom!

yup! My boss actually asked if I would be willing to write several briefs from home over the next week while I'm still out on leave (and then get to expand my leave several days), and it feels GREAT to get back to work.
I do secretly hope that my working from home now will set a precedent so I can work from home more in the future, but either way, I'm ready to get back into it! I found that I do need "meaty brain work" on a daily basis.

LO isnt' here yet and I already know that I'll have the same sentiments. I am not cut out to be a SAHM. and I think I'll be a better for working because it's what makes me happy.

@yoursilverlining: This is great, even if they just let you work from home if you have a sick baby. I love that if I need to take the day off, I can still clock an hour or so while she's sleeping and it means taking less sick leave.
