Hello girls! so glad to see activity on this thread again :D. Welcome @pui:!

@marionberry: ooh, are you finding out gender today?

@chibee: Massive amounts of baby dust to you, darling!

It took me a while, but I'm guessing V-day is viability day? I had to look it up, but apparently once you hit 24 weeks you have a viable pregnancy and your baby COULD potentially survive outside (with severe medical intervention). In which case...tomorrow is my V-day!

@Cherrybee: 16 weeks is still plenty of time to get things done :). We still need to get our crib, though I have been a busy little 'bee' in the shopping department. I can't help it! Have you thought up names yet? We're pretty set on Ella Margaret.

@marionberry: @chibee: Yeah it was definitely the material of the flip flops - but I had worn them the entire summer last year, to work, shopping, everywhere, and they were great! So annoying! i think I'm going to go for ballet pumps when my major foot swelling time happens!

@StrawberryBee: Hello!!! Ooh, Ella is a lovely name! Is Margaret after anyone special or did you just like it? We have found it really difficult - but have a consensus of sorts on Elliott May.

Yes, V Day is Viability Day! It's the week the baby first stands a fighting chance (40-70%) of survival if it's born early. Every week now, that chance goes up and up and at 28 weeks the chance is 90%.

@StrawberryBee: Yes we are! How funny that you're naming your daughter Ella, since if ours is a girl that's our name too! For a boy I think we're leaning toward Jackson, but it's not as 100% as Ella. Congrats on hitting your Vday (almost)!! Mine is 7 weeks away.

@cherybee: I just bought a pair of ballet flats! I had sworn never to because I have long feet, but figure that later in pregnancy they'd be better for more formal outfits than my flip flops. Good luck finding a great pair! And I like the name Elliott! Good choice!

@Cherrybee: Margaret is for my husband's maternal grandmother :). I never met her, but everyone talks about her fondly and no one else in the family has named their LO that yet (that my husband can recall). My grandmother's name was Miriam Elizabeth, so this is me kinda switching up initials. (Unfortunately I don't care for the name Miriam, and we already have a few Elizabeths on my side.)

Love the name Elliot May, and love the book ledges you have set up in the nursery!

We have a 3D ultrasound scheduled for the 27th of this month (26 weeks). So exciting!

@marionberry: I kept on coming back to 'Ella' and DH really seemed to like it (he nixed my boy name Jeremy, so thank goodness she's a she ;)). Great minds! Do you have a middle name picked out yet (if doing one)?

Do you worry about 'Ella' being too popular? I hope there aren't too many kids in her class with that name. I always loved having a unique name, but having gone through the baby name list a million times with nothing else jumping out at me, I am bowing to the inevitable :).

@marionberry: @StrawberryBee: Thank you - I love that you like our name. DH is wavering a bit because the one person he has told (his work colleague) turned her nose up at it and said "that's a boys name". I didn't want to admit to him that two of the four people I've told have done the same thing..... You don't think it's too boyish do you??

@StrawberryBee: I did worry at first about the name being popular but my name was fairly popular when I was in school and I never cared.
@cherrybee: My second favorite name is Avery and many people used to think that was a boy's name. I'm really a who cares what people think girl so I'd say to go for it!

Just in case you didn't see it on the September thread, it's a boy! I have two pics there too.

@Cherrybee: I do have to admit that Elliott strikes me as a boy's name before a girl's, but I think a lot of that is based on personal experience with a name and I could see it swinging either way. What matters is that you two like it! For instance, I know that Rowan is considered to be primarily a boy's name, but I identify it with a female character in a book that I read as a teen, so to me it always reads as 'female' first.

@marionberry: congratulations on your little boy!! Ha, it's always the name you don't have fully picked out that the gender ends up being ;). How cool that you got a 3d peek!

@marionberry: Eeek! A little boy!! So, so excited for you! Little boy cardigans are so, so cute! What does your DH think about it? Little maybe-Jackson!

@StrawberryBee: Ya we didn't even pay for 3d, just 2d, so when the lady asked if we wanted to see him in 3d we were like sure!!
@cherrybee: Ya we've been discussing the name a lot since finding out it's a boy and I really think it will end up being Jackson. I like little boy cardigans too but I'm not sure about DH. We're already disagreeing about the clothes we want him in and what we want to do for the nursery. I had a million girl ideas but boys are SO hard! Especially when you grew up with all girls, like I did.

    @marionberry: a boy!!!! Congratulations!
@Cherrybee: I love Elliot for a girl did u ever watch scrubs? I was a HUGE fan of the show and the character named Elliot who was a girl!

Got my crosshairs finally and currently sitting at 3 dpo. Today is out third wedding anniversary so I'll consider the crosshairs my anniversary gift from the universe haha

@marionberry: I had my dr's appt finally! They took blood work and she seems to agree with me that there is definitely something up with my long cycles. She was glad I was in the "right spot" for blood work, she wants to check for progesterone to see if I'm ovulatory. She did ask me if I was thinking about medical intervention at this point, and I told her I would like to see what my blood work comes up with first. She seems really willing to want to work with me for this. Also, today was my annual pap.

And I'm kind of stressed out right now because I just went to the bathroom and I noticed I'm spotting, all brown spotting but it seems too much for any kind of implantation spotting, and I've read implantation spotting should be red, not brown - so I'm really afraid something is up and I'm starting my period way, way too soon!!! Did anyone have this experience? I'm at 6 dpo today. Could the pap I had have something to do with this??

  17. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@chibee: The PAP can definitely be the reason for the spotting, so try not to worry. Plus Idk that there's a true color implantation spotting should be. Just wait a day or two and see if it goes away and what your temp does. I'm really happy that your doctor agrees something is up with your cycle. Let us know what your bloodwork shows! Are you open to medical intervention or no? You could start with something as simple as clomid before you do anything like IUI like I did, however I'm a total proponent of interventions!

  18. chibee

    pear / 1974 posts

@marionberry: well - my temp went up considerably today, but I just noticed a tiny bit of spotting brown still. I'm 7 dpo now, and I can't help but hope this is implantation spotting but I have a feeling it has something to do with the pap?? Either way I really am hoping my period is not on its way.

@chibee: Your chart looks fabulous! Oh I am so crossing my fingers for good news for you!! Try not to worry about the spotting. It's probably no big deal.

@chibee: I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you. It's all looking good at the moment!

Sooooo my dr's office just called - blood work came back completely normal. She said I am definitely ovulating, and all my levels are good - so what the f! It's kind of frustrating, I mean I'm glad that there's nothing wrong with me but then why isn't it working?? Wahhh I am feeling sorry for myself today because I'm in that obsessive TWW phase and my temp dipped today and it's just not a good day! Sorry for the rant!

  24. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@chibee: That is frustrating! On one hand it's great that everything is normal, but on the other it means there is nothing you can do to improve!

  25. chibee

    pear / 1974 posts

@pui: Exactly! My doc and I talked about Clomid but it's like.. why would I take that now if I know there is nothing wrong with me? It's a long story, but even though I have been TTC since July of 2012, this is only our third cycle of really trying, so I know I should give it a couple more tries before really freaking out but I really do want this so badly, as soon as possible!!!

  26. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@chibee: Do NOT worry about the temp drop yet. After implantation, pregnant cycles often stairstep. So tomorrow watch for it to go back up. If it goes back up, and especially if it's higher than yesterday's high you might be pregnant. Just be patient and try not to stress too much. What bloodwork did she run do you know? And if everything came back perfect, then in 2-3 cycles it's probably time to check DH's sperm and see if he's not the cause. But I really think your chart looks great so far.

  27. chibee

    pear / 1974 posts

@marionberry: now i'm wondering if i should stop temping because it's giving me anxiety!! she checked for progesterone, TSH, FSH and prolactin. She took my blood at 6 dpo and the progesterone came in at 21 - so according to the reference range that shows I have definitely ovulated so that's a good thing. the TSH, FSH and prolactin were within the normal range as well - so now I guess it's just a waiting game to see what happens this cycle. I'm really trying not to get my hopes up too much because the higher my hopes are the harder i fall with a BFN, you know? Thanks for listening to me rantabout this!

  28. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@chibee: I saw on the POAS board you were worrying about a negative, but I really wouldn't yet. When I was pregnant, the pee stick on day 12 was barely a line and it really didn't get darker for days. Sometimes if your beta numbers start low (it varies by woman) it can take longer for them to rise high enough to give you a positive. I saw your chart and it still looks good. You're only 10 dpo. Have faith for a few more days!!

    nectarine / 2522 posts

    @marionberry: I agree, I had a BFN at 10dpo and a faint faint line at 11dpo.

@Mrs squirreld: @marionberry: thanks guys, i don't have too much hope at this point though. I'll keep testing I guess. So stressful!

@Cherrybee: Thanks! Still no BFP here at 11 dpo, I've sorta been preparing myself for AF but it's been pretty disappointing.

@Mrs squirreld: Thanks it's not fair that my chart is looking absolutely perfect so far and I see AF just around the corner (spotting, cramps, the whole nine right before AF arrives for me)

  35. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@chibee: Did you test today? It does look great!!

  36. chibee

    pear / 1974 posts

@marionberry: nope I've been spotting so I didn't bother the brown spotting turned into red briefly today and stopped and went back to brown as of tonight I'm pretty ire AF is here tomorrow or the day after so I didn't want to start another day with a bfn.

Don't be fooled! I've had pretty charts before and I've been cramping and spotting then past two days.

@chibee: true, pretty charts sometimes are misleading..remember I got pregnant on at 61 day cycle!!? Who knows what my body was doing... BUT it was a sign that you should never give up!!
