I gave birth at 1 am on a Thursday morning. I would not recommend giving birth that late!

They say its about 24 hours in that the babies realize they are out of the womb and kinda go nuts. If possible, it'd be nice if that didn't happen in the middle of the night!

It was nice to give birth on a Thursday because it kept visitors to a minimum until Saturday when we were checking out.

as an afterthought, giving birth late or VERY early might be nice, because I can avoid the onslaught of "well meaning" visitors that will ambush us as soon as we have it. we'd get some time before visiting hours.

I would choose probably Friday afternoon. Friday because we have the weekend and our parents and friends can visit and help us out if needed. And afternoon because I delivered my LO in the middle of the night and I MUCH preferred the day shift nurses over the night shift nurses.

Honestly, my due date is 6/9/12 and I would love to have our baby that day (I 3's). It would be pretty neat to have him/her at 6:12pm, too.

September 14, 2012, at 7-8 PM. Hopefully starting labor after I've been awake for a bit, then give me a few hours to moon over my baby before my current dinner time. Give a grandma a full weekend with a newborn without wasting time off work, and not going overdue. Yeah, I'm hoping I'm pregnant this cycle, would be due on Sept. 16. I'm not holding my breath - though I REEEEEEEEALLY want a September baby. I'm a fall baby, as is my husband, and a birthday a month is a nice spread.

We had our little guy Thursday night - 7:49pm - which I thought was great. It allowed us to have a quiet Friday to recover as not many people were able to visit the hospital and then we had Sat & Sun for visitors (had an unplanned c-section so I didn't leave until Monday morning) My husband got to take Thurs & Friday and then the whole next week and was able to spend 9 days with us before going back to work. Be sure that you know your hospitals policy because at our hospital if you give birth after 8pm, then you have to stay an additional night. So when my labor wasn't progressing after 36 hours they suggested that I do my c-section before 8pm so I didn't have to stay the extra day. (There were obviously more reasons then that for the c-section but at that point we had already been in the hospital for nearly 2 days! The thought of ANOTHER day was brutal.)

So anyway, I liked Thursday evening.

I gave birth at 2:09 pm on a Friday. The sucky part was that I went into labor the night before so we were up all night. But I got an epidural eventually and got some sleep before she came. I thought the day was good because people could easily visit over the weekend.
