Before getting pregnant with Emma I'd probably have said a boy because I know how desperately my husband wants a son, but now that I'm almost 33 weeks along with our spunky little girl I'd want her- no contest.

In regards to the old homage: "Your son is your son 'til he finds him a wife, but your daughter's your daughter for all of your life" I don't think that's always true. My mom and I don't talk much, and my MIL has no contact with her mother- being female sadly does not guarantee your kid is going to want anything to do with you as an adult.
