would you go back to school?
I would be in grad school in every degree possible, if it was for free!! I am a book loving, lifelong student by nature!

Yes, school is fun plus I finally know what I want to be when I grow up

I do enjoy being in school but I also am looking forward to graduation and getting into my career

Yep. This question assumes I'm independently wealthy too and don't gave to work right?!

More so if I had free childcare but seriously, I'd love to go back to school if I could figure out for what!

Yes and no?
My job is paying for my master's program, so yes. But i'm so ready to be done with it and have my weeknights to myself!

In the future, I think I'd rather take a single course here and there that I'm really interested in instead of prescribing to an entire program (some of which might not interest me)

Yes, absolutely! But, it's more a question of having time and energy, rather than $$. Not that I have spare $$ laying around, but I have even less spare time laying around!

I would go to nursing school in a heartbeat if it was free.

Oh yes. It was the #1 motivator for obtaining my grad degree.....but now I want to go back for something else! Except this time I have to pay for it myself
But i wouldn't want to be in school "forever"....

Part time.
I love to learn as well, school is not the only place where that is possible.

@Espion: haha well you already spent a lot of time in school
@LuLu Mom: I will be taking out less than 10k in nursing school loans because since having a child, I actually qualified for a decent amount in grants. If you feel passionate about it- it's worth looking into! I am loving it.

@Mrs. Pen: You're going to be able to pay 10K off so fast, too! BALLING!

@Mrs. Pen: It's something I would love to do, but 1) financially we need me working right now & 2) the idea of taking the time away from my (soon to be) two young kids isn't worth it. Maybe when they are in school I can swing it. I should have never switched my major!

@blackbird: my goal is within a year out of nursing school- with two full time incomes it should definitely happen!!
@LuLu Mom: that's the hardest part for sure!! My instructor asked me if I was going to get a direct patient care job this summer to get experience, and I said honestly, I just need to spend time with my son. My heart hurts from missing him!

Can I skip homework at will? I love classes and discussion but sometimes I am just not interested in certain assignments. If I can pick and choose I would go back forever!

Haha well I am gettingb my phd so I basically am and will be a student foreverrrrr

What is wrong with all you crazies?! No way! I don't know that you could even pay me to go back
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@Mrs. Pen: Oh totally! Well worth it. You are kicking ass and taking names!
I would love the opportunity for a free career change, lol!

@MaryM: This would be my strategy as well! Choose a course each semester that sounds interesting to me. I *may* do this in the future--I work at a university and they offer a pretty steep tuition discount to staff. The problem is deciding what kind of class to take!!

I'd take cooking, art, coding, sewing, (fun) classes!

@Cole: when my sister was in school, she wanted to attend some extra classes she didn't need to graduate, so she received professor permission to "audit". She didn't have to do any of the assignments
@blackbird: you're my biggest fan.

Only if I didn't have a LO. If I went back to school now I'd never see her!

It depends on what would happen afterward.
I've been teaching for a few years and am currently taking time out to complete my Masters thesis, which is due in a month (how terrifying!). I love educational research, and would do a PhD in a heartbeat if there were better opportunities at the end. My MIL is an adjunct professor, and she earns less than I will be as a teacher here in the US, and, since I recently moved here, I will be starting from the bottom all over again. I wouldn't consider it until DD has grown up, because I couldn't give her the life I wanted to.

Yes. I love learning but I'm kinda lazy. Is there a chip to insert so I can just know stuff? LOL. I just want to be smart without doing the work guyz.

Hahahahahsha no. I'm so done with school. But I wish tuition was free when I got my law degree!

@Mrs. Pen: Now if I could retroactively use the money for student loans....!

If it was free and the mortgage fairy also visited! I want to change careers badly!
