If I didn't have tuition and I still got paid with benefits without having to work a separate job, definitely.

@Mrs. Tictactoe: You're actually describing the exact conditions under which I went back to school for my Masters!
I was really lucky to go back to school under those circumstances, and it was a great experience. The only downfall was that it meant living 3 1/2 hrs apart from DH for 27 months. At age 30 when I started, I was definitely a mature student and years older than most of my classmates. Despite the fact that I had to relearn some of the complex math and physics that I hadn't used in years, I actually had better marks in my M.Sc. than my B.Sc!
DH and I put off TTC so that I could go back to school, and while I wouldn't be opposed to furthering my education, I'm not sure it's something that would work out for us again. I think even part-time would be too hard with a LO!

Nope. I graduated early from college for a reason!

This is why I hope it never becomes free. I know a woman in a country where college education is free. She has four degrees and is on welfare. If they make any college education free, I hope it's just for trade schools (we need more plumbers, welders, etc.).

@Espion: so your organization doesn't do any loan forgiveness? That's s bummer I'm hoping to get a job somewhere that will help me with my masters tuition. That would be an amazing perk.

@Mrs. Pen: Nope, I wish. It will be a hell of a party when I send in the last check in 25 years, ha!

@Mrs. Pen: I audited a couple of random classes on college and loved it! I hope when life settles down a bit I can try it again.

@Espion: yeah I feel the same about dh's loans and he doesn't even have a doctorate (yet).

Nope! I'm in grad school now and my company's paying for it, so I guess that's technically a yes. But I only have 2 classes left, and I can't wait to be done. I'm so ready to have my time back and just spend time on work and family.

You cray! I was sooo done with school when i graduated college and i never looked back! Even if i could quit my job and go for free i still wouldn't!

Yes but a) it would have to be a course where I didn't have exams or any formal assessments, because I am too lazy to study and b) I would need to find some additional hours in my day to actually attend!

You cray!! Wagon Sr. actually works at universities and a big part of the reason is so he can take classes for free and they're right near his work. He's working on 2 masters right now. As his spouse I can take classes too, but I never have. My work also offers tuition remission. But I hate studying. I love working. So I will never go back to school.

I would definitely do it!
@Skadi: that's a pretty extreme example. I live in a country where public higher education is free and most people do not end up on welfare after 4 degrees. My own DH benefitted from free university in his country. Despite free education, there are still plenty of people doing blue collar jobs (also through free programs). Not meaning to start a debate, just saying that even if education is free it doesn't mean there will be a lack of plumbers and mechanics.
Eta: "free" education here is made possible through very high taxes.

Honestly? No. BUT if it was just to take classes for the sake of classes, then yes. When I retire, I'd like to take courses here and there because I enjoy learning, and I think you can do that without the requirements associated with a degree.

@lamariniere: you beat me to it...free to the student means paid for via taxes.
My husband also benefitted from free to him college and he was never on any kind of social assistance. Now, do we know some career students, of course. But we also know a lot of people that have earned degrees and gone on to nicely paying jobs as tradesmen and professionals.

Absolutely not. After undergrad and grad school I am just plain done with college. Plus with a toddler and a baby on the way, there is no way that I would have time for that.

This is part of the reason why I'm back in school! Tuition is paid for though our high taxes. I even get a little bit a month for studying (everyone under a certain age is entitled to it).

Maybe later in life. I have so many degrees now (undergrad plus three graduate degrees) that the thought going back to school just makes me sort of ill. I really like working.

Heck no, I already did grad school once. I loved it, but I was in my 20s and would be doing schoolwork/classes/studying from 8am-11pm most days. Even most of my meals and socializing was done while working on school stuff. Now that I have a family I prefer to spend my free time with them. One master's is good for me :).

There is tons of free courses released by colleges, and I don't seem to be participating in those, so I doubt I would get other degrees.
