... Was it worth it? 
I'm currently 15 1/2 weeks and I'm dyyyying to find out (no real good reason, I'd be perfectly happy with either). There's a local elective ultrasound place that will do a quick sex check at 16 weeks. I'm debating right now 
My husband thinks it's a waste of money since we will prob find out at our 20 week anatomy scan in mid Feb.

yup! we did with our first. we were just excited and had it done right around my birthday, so it was a fun treat

Yes, we found out early with both kids. I will say with my son it was a lot more fun because it was a definite answer, with my daughter they said most likely a girl but come back for confirmation so it felt less exciting (didn't want to get my heart set on a daughter then it turn out wrong).

Yes, we did with both kids. With #1, we were living in Texas but visiting my family in Wisconsin. My parents were able to come with us and it was the only part of the pregnancy they were able to be part of. For #2, we just didn't want to wait. 
I really thought it was worth it. We got 30 minutes to look at the babies and see them move around. We could ask the tech to get certain shots and we really enjoyed that time. At the anatomy scans they were always all business and moving around way too fast to see as much as I'd like.

@pinkcupcake: I went at 17 weeks and was happy we did it. Ours was only $50. I probably wouldn't have done it for a lot more than that.
Our 20 week ultrasound was the first week in January and we really wanted to know for Christmas, so for us it was worth it!

Yes, we did it at ~14 wks and it was $50. Totally worth it for us but I like to know things ahead of time!
I wish I had done it for LO3 instead of going by the NT scan tech's guess and my intuition bc we were both wrong! I wasn't necessarily disappointed but did feel silly for being so sure it was a girl when in fact LO3 is a boy

My husband's cousin did it and found out they were having a girl at 15 weeks. Then she got in a car accident and had to have an emergency ultrasound, where she found out that their girl was actually a boy. He's two now.
Because of that, I won't do it.

It was worth it with my first because my mom was so overbearing that we wanted a few weeks to just enjoy the news to ourselves. We didn't do it this time but I reallyyyyy wanted to!

I didn't have the option two, but would have jumped on the chance had it been possible, especially with the 2nd one.

Yes! We found out at 16 weeks the first time and 15 the second and it was great both times!

I didn't have one, but I found out early via the Panorama blood test.
If I hadn't had the blood test, I would absolutely do it!

Um, I actually paid extra to have the blood test done so I could find out the gender around 8 weeks because I was *that* impatient

I was AMA so found out via the Harmony test. I am glad I found out early!

Thanks, everyone! Got the appt scheduled for this Saturday, when I'll be just 3 days shy of 16 weeks. They said that should definitely be far along enough to see the sex clearly, and their accuracy rate is very high!

I found out at 15.5 weeks, I probably could have waited but it was only $25 so it was worth it.

That's awesome!! Around here they won't do early u/s's to find out the sex because of sex based abortions
