yes, we were open about it from the day we found out. i had the harmony test, which i had been waiting for before announcing my pregnancy, so when i told people i was pregnant i tacked on the sex as well.

Yep! My parents and ILs first, then all of our close friends and family (and HB!).

yes, we didn't announce (except to family) until after we knew the sex, so it was "we're expecting, and it's a ____!"

We kept it a secret among family and friends at home the first time, but shared with friends where we live. This time we told friends where we live and my family. DH wants a surprise for his fam.

We used a picture to announce, so we knew for a few days before we told, and the first time we had a reveal that night. We waited until family/close friends knew before posting on social media.

We shared right away. We told my mom first because she was watching M while we went to the ultrasound.

For DD1 we were told at a 13 week ultrasound so anyone who we were or had told that we were pregnant we told it was a girl with a slight caveat that it was really early for them to tell on an u/s.
For this pregnancy we did a gender reveal at DD1's first birthday party, so about 40 people found out at the same time as we did!

We shared with family and close friends within minutes of finding out.

Yeah, we shared right away with everyone - but I had found out before we made it common knowledge we were expecting, so it was just part of the announcement.

Our dr was 99% sure at our 16 week appointment but we waited until our 20 week anatomy scan confirmed it before we told anyone.

We had a small party that day and shared with friends and family.
grapefruit / 4584 posts
For the first, we were called our families and woke them up to tell them! (we were overseas)
For our second, we had a small gender reveal party, so we found out at the same time as our parents, siblings, and grandparents.

Yes and shared immediately with family and a few close friends who knew I was pregnant before I made the public announcement

Yep, we shared it with everyone. I texted my mom and DH about the same time as my Maternti21 tests came in. I said that it's looking like a boy, confirmed later. Even when we announced the pregnancy on FB, we didn't mention the gender since everyone already knows.

with everyone. My mom was first. She was driving and had to pull over because she started crying with happiness. She REALLY wanted a girl.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
We shared with our parents / siblings within 24 hours. Everyone else was told within the week.

texted friends and family right away. Shared a pic on social media but can't remember if it was same day or a couple days later DD. For DS is was same day.
persimmon / 1461 posts
we found out and didn't tell anyone I wanted to have a connection with baby knowing what it was, but wanted to surprise everyone after she was born.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
We texted fam/some friends immediately. But I think social media a day or two later.
persimmon / 1367 posts
Told everyone! We did the Harmony test also, so we knew that E was a girl at 13 weeks so we announced the pregnancy and that she was a girl all at once around 14 weeks.
pomelo / 5791 posts
We did. We announced the gender at the same time as the pregnancy announcement (we found out early via blood test). I think next time I would choose to wait longer. Since we are having a second son, I've had non-stop comments about having a girl, trying again, etc. and he's not even here yet!

We actually kept it a secret for almost 5 weeks! Everyone thought we were finding out at our 20 week anatomy scan and we ended up going early at 15 weeks to find out but couldn't get the whole family together until the holidays which was week 20 so we just kept it to ourselves until then. It is NOT a fun secret to have and dont recommend waiting that long.

We're going to tell everyone at the shower, so we'll know for a few weeks before everyone else.
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
We called and texted, and then posted on social media later that day.
coconut / 8483 posts
Our few friends knew we were going that day so we told them once we knew. The next day both sets of parents were coming in to town so we to waited to tell them in person.

We didn't share right away. We had the Panorama blood test done because the 13 week blood test didn't come back so hot and we didn't share that with anyone until after we got results from the Panomara. Once we knew our LO was healthy, we waited a few days to share because we were so happy the blood test came back ok that we didn't think to start calling people with a story ("hey, I know it's WAY before 20 weeks but we unexpectedly know what we're having!"). We also wanted to share with a picture, so we FaceTimed family first and then posted a photo on social media a few days later. We probably knew for 2 weeks before everyone else knew.
