Because of my loss this summer, my doc wants to give me an early viability ultrasound.
Based on their availability, the appointment I have is two weeks from today - I'll be 6w4d, which I know is right on the line. What's the likelihood of seeing anything useful?

6w2d we saw ds1's heart flicker
7w2d we saw ds2's heart flicker (didn't have an u/s before that)

Still saw a yolk sack at 6w, a heartbeat at 7w with both pregnancies!

I saw the heartbeat both times at 6+3 and 6+4. With my first pregnancy, I went in for the first time at 9 weeks with no heartbeat (missed m/c).

I had an early ultrasound due to bleeding right around 6 weeks – definitely on the early side of 6 weeks and they could see the HB then right away.

Phew okay awesome. Last time my missed m/c was at 8 weeks (baby stopped growing at 7.5) so even with a heartbeat, I'm not sure how much better I'll feel.. but guess we'll see. Thanks!!

@sslm: The problem is my first midwife appt is the following week, and doing another appt that week (or that day) would be a huge amount of time off from work!

@JoJoGirl: That's why I waited, my very first pregnancy was a miscarriage where we saw a HB at 6w (although I was supposed to be 7w). So with DD we waited and went at 8w, and it was the same with this pregnancy. Totally understand about the time off from work though! I have that issue too.

@JoJoGirl: i was 6w6d measuring 6w2d and 7w measuring 6w4d (I think.) With lo2 I had bleeding and saw no hb at about 6 weeks or so.

My RE doesn't do ultrasounds before 7w because you may not see a HB. But I was able to pick it up at 6w with our home doppler.

i actually just rescheduled it to 12/31 because I don't want to take a chance 
I'll be 7w!

We saw a flicker at 6 weeks 2 days I think but it was a little slow. By 8 weeks it was right on track.

The two pregnancies I had an early scan, heartbeat was visible at 5w6d and 6w3d

6w, 4d with DS1 - saw HB and she could measure it with the US
6w, 3/4d with DS2 - saw HB and she could measure it with the US
As long as your dates are pretty accurate, you have a good shot of seeing the HB!

Lo #2- 6w exactly
Both times it was too little to measure, but they could see it.
Eta- I had an u/s at 5w4 days for lo#2 and we could only see the sac.

(My heart is so full looking through my old pregnancy journal entries!) 7w2d was my first ultrasound and we saw a flicker of the heartbeat!

6w2d. Man I remember googling and searching HB threads with this exact question. I can recall exactly how anxious you must be feeling. It was such an immense relief when we saw that little flicker. Good luck!

I always want mine around 7 weeks.
With DS I was 6 weeks 5 days and could see it. With this one I was 6 weeks 6 days and saw it. 7 weeks you'll be great

We saw and heard a heartbeat at 6 weeks 4 days. It was 106 BPM. Next apt at 8 weeks it had gone up to 157 BPM. This is my first viable pregnancy after 2 losses.

I was 6w4d, we saw & heard a heartbeat of 139.
