And could only choose ONE thing to spend it on for the year, what would you choose?

I picked house cleaners, but I would cheat and just use half of it for that (we can get someone for $75 every other week) and put the other half toward a vacation

i said a date night or two a month as we currently don't prioritize it and we need to!

I find it so interesting how people choose to spend their money. When I used to work I spent a lot of my money on clothes and going out with friends for dinner/drinks. But I drank coffee from home and packed a lunch pretty much everyday. I had some coworkers who complained they had no money but I would see them get Starbucks once or twice a day and always buy lunch...and some of them smoked.
Now that I SAH I would totally choose to get house cleaners

@sorrycharlie: Same -- not an option listed, but I'd put it towards student loans.

Could I put it in savings? If not then I would like clothes.

Save for a big ticket item like house stuff. We still need so much! Or a vacation. Wishful thinking.
only debt we have are student loans and the interest is negligible.

Really, we'd probably put it into a college fund. But since that's not an option, house cleaners all the way. I'd rather wear the same yoga pants and make my own coffee and food and have someone clean my house weekly!

I would have chosen paying off debt. I was getting an extra $300 a month (only happened for 3 months ) and that's where it went. I miss it.

Look at all you smart people choosing savings I said clothes but I'm too picky to spend 300 a month on clothes so is probably save half of it.

Hmmm... that is a tough one! I think I'd put it towards a big ticket item or vacation.

I would save half and spend half on either clothes or getting my hair and nails done.

None of the above. Would put it towards our debt. Just like every other extra dollar we have these days.

House cleaners!! At least right now while I don't have energy. Although, I would makeup and clothes would probably be my top choice if I weren't pregnant and feeling unattractive haha.

Clothes and makeup!
If I could pick something off the list I would put it towards putting DD in daycare part time 2ish days a week.

Save it to either pay off bills or towards IVF & PGD or a house down payment. If I had to spend it, I'd use it on clothes for us both and makeup/beauty treatments for me. We don't have babies yet.

I actually just got a raise resulting in that! It's just going toward general savings since we have no debt other than mortgage and already max out retirement funds. It'll probably eventually end up going toward house updates.

@sandy: I always joke to DH that if I ever decided to SAH (I work 3x/week now) that I would get a job that makes enough just to pay for a house cleaner!

I think I would spend it on clothes for me and the family. I'm pretty frugal about our clothes so it would be nice to build up a nice wardrobe 1 item at a time.

Big ticket item/vacation! Although putting it into savings/paying down debt sounds wonderful as well.

Too...difficult...can't...vote!
I'd like to split it 3 ways: $100 extra towards mortgage and/or home improvements, $100 extra towards DH's student loans, & $100 for LO's savings account.

If I had to pick I would say house cleaners, but in reality if we suddenly had a surplus $300 a month we would be moving to a better (bigger and easier to clean) apartment!
