Has anyone else seen Alicia Silverstone's new book? Yikes.

Blegh... I can't stand this kind of crap. Like any celebrity is an expert on babies.

Well, I guess I'm a monster mom according to her. This is nuts! These books should be put in the comedy section and come with warnings that none of the info is coming from an expert or doctor. I hope nobody buys this book, but I'm sure people will...

This is infuriating. I wish people would stop buying these kinds of books.

Just ridiculous horseshit! She and Jenny McCarthy need to show me their PHDs!!! Honestly!

As soon as I heard that she feeds her son like a bird, I stopped listening to anything she had to say...

I checked it out from the library and quickly returned it.

@Kemma: She can, but she totally hopped on the anti vaccine bandwagon with the same doctor that Jenny McCarthy used. The more I read about her, the more I think she's super book smart, but totally lacking in common sense.

“though it’s less common among kind mamas, some women experience the blues after giving birth.”
Are you effing kidding me? Just, no.

She and Tom Cruise should hang out.
She's an f'ing idiot. Can we ship her and Jenny and the chick from Laguna Beach to a remote island somewhere?

Why do people continue to buy books and take advice from celebrities who have ZERO qualifications?
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@MamaMoose: Yes!! The national IQ would probably go up if we got rid of those three.

What the actual f*ck?? These has been 90's celebrities are so clueless.
GOLD / pomelo / 5737 posts
I did see her book in Barnes and nobles and I remember wondering who buys that crap.. Gosh if I knew that's all I had to do to rid myself of ppd it would have been so much easier!!

@Mrs.Someone: Whaaaaat?? No. Please tell me I have misunderstood that comment? Please!

@Cherrybee: I wish it was a misunderstanding, but sadly, nope: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2121233/Alicia-Silverstone-feeding-baby-Bear-mouth-mouth-bird-style-YouTube-video.html

Darnit, @lawbee11 beat me to the Clueless joke. I totally was going to make one
But seriously. I thought Jenny McCarthy was bad, but her damaging opinions on PPD and the like could make a struggling mama feel even worse That, on top of her disastrous vaccine views. It would be easy to laugh this thing off if I didn't know that people will probably actually take her seriously!! Celebrities have a special responsibility, I believe, since people listen to them through their position of priviledge: they should NOT be using it to say nonsense!

I swear, i don't effing understand these people. People have babies and suddenly they're experts on parenting.
Oh, and did you hear? Jenny McCarthy is now saying that she was mislabeled and actually pro-vaccine.

@googly-eyes: Seriously! No. 4 on Amazon’s list of books about motherhood?! Who the F actually buys this crap??
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
Aw man. I had totally read her Kind Diet book too.

@mrs. pen--nice people are skinny and mean people are not?...

@blackbird: if only I had learned that secret a long time ago. Would have kept all those sarcastic one-liners to myself...

What's crazy is if you read the Amazon reviews of the book, there are some people who are using it as their bible...
kiwi / 714 posts
@KelLeeLeee: the amazon reviews are mostly negative, which is good, but the 5 star ones are terrifying.
pomegranate / 3314 posts
Such a shitty, insensitive thing to say. I was neutral about her before (even after the baby-bird feeding nonsense), but now I am not much of a fan at all.
persimmon / 1116 posts
@Mrs.Someone: oh. my. gosh. WHAT.
@MamaMoose: baaahahahaha about Tom Cruise.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@oscarthegoon: yeah, she does. She talks a lot about that in her diet book.
pomegranate / 3872 posts
Eeeesh I did like her first book. It's scary what people will believe just because a celebrity says it.
