is it tied/verified to your bank account?
Mine was and I recently deleted it. With all the paypal scams I don't want anything linked to a cash account. The hassle with bank retrieval etc (in case of a scam) doesn't seem worth it for how little I use paypal. I'm "unverified" now and have to pay fees to send money (which I rarely do).
I have it tied to a CC for purchases, etc. And I just use whatever payments I receive to order things online for DS

Yes, but only recently, cause I opened a new checking account just for it. It's not linked to my savings or anything else.

Yes; I've had a PayPal account for like 10 years and it's always been linked to a checking account and (knock on wood) I've had zero issues.

I did have it linked forever ago, but I've switched banks since and never re-linked it. I use PayPal with my credit card.

Nope. I just have my credit card attached to it. I don't like things linked to my bank account.

@Mamaof2: I've heard both on HB and also a couple of IRL friends who've had their paypal accounts hacked? or charged? and debited cash from their checking accounts with fraudulent charges! Most I think were able to get the money back but it took weeks of back office paperwork etc.

I recently had to verify my Paypal account to complete a sale on HB classifieds. I guess I reached my max selling/receiving money limit. I make a point of switching it to my credit card for purchases.

@yoursilverlining: Ditto even though it does make me cringe a lil hearing all these scams and what not. Looks like we need to revert to cave man style and live life off the webs and pay with cash that is hidden under our pillows/beds or buried in the backyard. hahaha!

Yeah, but it's linked to my old checking account before DH and I opened a joint one. So there's really not much money in that account and I transfer money over if I need to make a purchase.

@Alivoo01: haha, cash is king! There is always a risk associated with doing business online or using a credit or debit card anywhere at all, or having auto debit for any bill, etc; that's the price we pay for the convenience of online shopping and not having to carry cash everywhere we go.

Yes it's tied to our fun money account which gets depleted super fast. We both use it and we always have to add money to it for a non regular purchase.

Yes and it has been for years with no problems. Paypal always has some issues with users so I wouldn't be surprised if people were being randomly charged.

Yup, it's linked but I use it every month to pay for my rent. I haven't had issues with fraudulent charges.
I have, however, removed my credit cards from other online shopping accounts (like the ones I use once or once a year.)
