If you have a boy and a girl, did you have a preference for the 3rd child?
What are your pro's/con's? Does it matter about going every other in gender (boy, girl, boy) or would you prefer two of the same gender be closest in age.

I wouldn't care but would prefer to have another of whatever my youngest would be so I could reuse their stuff!
In my case it would be boy, girl, girl

@Mamaof2: Yes! Thats a big consideration for me. I have a Girl (LO1) and a Boy (LO2). So if LO3 was also a boy, I have a lot of clothes and they could share a room!

@Truth Bombs: hee hee, that's how I feel.
I think if we were to have a 3rd (which we won't), I might try to be team green! There was no way I would have been able to be team green with my first two pregnancies, but maybe I could do it with a third. I really have zero preference.

@lamariniere: Ditto! I couldn't be for my 1st two pregnancies, but would consider it for #3!
I think I would prefer a boy, but I'm open to either since we already have DS and am currently pregnant with DD!

Not having a third, but if we were I would want another boy! I love having DD as my only daughter and I think a brother close in age would be good for DS. But not having a third

If we had a third, I'd want another boy. I liked being the only girl with 2 brothers haha

LO1 is a girl
LO2 is a boy due in February.
but I'm still sorta in denial bc I really thought it was a girl and would have preferred a girl.
If we were to have 3rd, I would strongly strongly strongly want a girl again.

that's the beauty of having a third after having one of each! in our family dynamic, there are lots of other little boys to play with. But also, there are only two girls, and I know E and her cousin C would *love* to take a little girl under their wings

@T.H.O.U.: is there something you want to share with the class?

@mediagirl: Definitely NOT pregnant if thats what you're asking
Still open to the idea of a third, but no idea how logistics would work. Based on the blog post today, we would need some kids to share a room. With #1 being a girl, and #2 being boy, I think we would need #3 to be a boy as well!

@T.H.O.U.: My plan is for E and T to share a room. i don't think it's a big deal until they're getting towards puberty.

@blackbird: Yea thats what everyone keeps saying. I may try it and see how it goes. One thing we like about our house is that the bedrooms are very large (like 11x13) so there is plenty of room for 2 beds.

If I were in that situation I would want another girl. No reason besides I just love being a girl mom. However, I haven't experienced being a boy mom so maybe I would love that too!

@Truth Bombs: three was off the table for a billion reasons, but it feels nice to not have that pressure from family to give the other gender or whatever. 19 weeks and can't wait to not be pregnant again!

For me having one of each takes the pressure off a lot, and I'd truly be happy with whatever I got! I'd love to be team green for once but I am WAY too much of a planner to handle that

I grew up as the only girl with two brothers and loved it--and we still get along great. I feel like I don't know anything about sisters.

I have two girls and am planning on a third baby - my ideal family is and always was two girls and a boy. Two (silly) reasons (1) all the guys I know with two sisters are really nice guys and (2) I grew up with all girls and feel like it's really important for girls to have a sister. I'm sure it's nice for boys to have brothers too; I just have no personal experience with that connection.
And if I had one of each already, I'd DEF go team green for #3!

I would want another boy just because my daughter is a drama queen and she'd probably have some kind of crisis if she had to share the female spotlight with someone else. But no 3rd planned here!!

@reverie: Yeah we weren't having another one either way anyway! But it's nice we'll get the experience of one of each. I'm 33 weeks and I definitely hear you on being DONE.

I'd want another girl because my sister and I are close to each other and our mom so I'd love to see that in my family.
