Yes, I keep the kids home with me. They are too young for any other camps, but I would probably keep them home anyway just to save the money. And because I really like being a temporary SAHM for a couple of months.
Our daycare has a lot of teachers, so they don't penalize us for missing the summer months--they just shift the staff around to accommodate for the older age "summer camp" they offer for younger school aged kids.

We may sign up for a couple of summer sessions though--like maybe a music class or dance class. But that's more for me. We are lucky in that our city offers tons of summer activities, so it's pretty easy to keep busy and schedule out our week on a budget.

I keep my son home with me during the summer. The last two summers we enrolled in Gymboree so we did classes together and that was fun. I also like being able to go on outings, visit family, etc. this summer I am on maternity leave, so I decided to keep my son in daycare 3 days a week so I could have a mix of time together at home and then some alone time with the baby.

My son's daycare doesn't hold his space so he continues going 2 days a week. Usually we sign up for a class (gym or music), go to farms and museums, travel to the shore and visit family! I love my summers. This year my summer break =maternity leave. Should be interesting.

I keep my Dds home with me in the summer. Daycare holds our spot which is awesome and saves me $.
They are offering 2x a week this summer for the first time which was super tempting, but in the end we are so busy and on the go in summers that I will just keep them home full time

My DH is off all summer, but still has administrative meetings every few weeks and has to write so we just keep LO in daycare FT

DH has summers off. We've had nanny shares so we've never stopped during summers because we would've had to help the family/nanny find another family for the summer. LO is in preschool now and her school doesn't run on the same schedule as DH's. She will go to their camp but not afterschool and will have 3 weeks with DH.
Once she starts elementary school she'll do some camp activities but nothing full time.

Our daycare charges during the summer to hold your spot. It's important to me that he maintains the connection he has to his daycare providers, so he'll be going five times a week for about four hours so I can work on grad school. Well see how it goes, though, I might reduce that time.

I'm taking LO out this summer, thankfully they hold her spot and we don't have to pay for summer. Her DC is not near our house but work so if we couldn't do that we would have had to find her a new daycare for next year! Would not pay for her to not go all summer.
Conflicted bc in the future we are hoping to move her to a daycare near home which will be way more convenient and slightly cheaper however they require you to keep them in two days a week which eats into some of the cost savings. I think I'd be ok with her doing that when she's older and gets more out of it but when we have LO #2 I am not sending her to daycare in the summer for no reason under the age of two or three. So will have to figure that out...

I SAH and my LO will be on summer break from pre-k so she'll be at home with me. I've signed her up for a summer ballet class and may sign her up for gymnastics or art class. Her school also offers summer camps that you can sign up for week by week (each week has a different theme). She's signed up for 2 weeks (one in June and one in July). If she loves it I may sign her up for a few more but mostly I'm looking forward to enjoying the summer with her
