What are your favorite things to do? Fav places to eat?
We just got back from a trip there, but we're going back this fall and would like to try new things since we're staying in a different town than our usual, which is Destin. We'll be closer to Santa Rosa/Blue Mountain Beach this time!

Well obviously you should forget the panhandle and go to Orlando instead so you can see me.

We went to Perdido Key a month ago and it was lovely! I guess it's technically part of Pensacola, but it's not highly commercialized. We ate in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Both are plenty far from Destin.

@grizz: I love Destin!! I don't remember the restaurant names we love. I will ask DH tonight.
I am mad IL's scheduled family vacation yet again on July 4th, in Destin, when we can't go. So yet again we are left out, and it pisses me off that they are excluding their granddaughter but taking their grandsons.

We go to Pensacola Beach every year. I love it. We go during "pensacola pride" so we go to events related to that, so I don't have great recommendations for restaurants but it's a family friendly little island with lots of options. We stay in the gulf breeze area, which is quiet and less expensive than staying on the beach strip. There is also the option of staying in Pensacola proper if you don't mind driving to the beach.

We went to Crawfordville (about 20 miles south of Tallahassee) a couple of months ago and really enjoyed visiting Carrabelle. The town is so quaint and we at at the best little restaurant (2 Al's on the Beach). We didn't get a chance to try out any of the other restaurants, but we plan on going back next year and will definitely try them out then!
As for beaches, we visited Alligator Point, Carrabelle, and Mashes Sands beaches. I liked Carrabelle for the retro vibe, but Alligator Point was much quieter. There weren't any restrooms at Alligator Point though.

@grizz: We'll be here until the end of October. Then we'll be in San Diego for six weeks, then we're out of the US.
