Do you wear them on the same hand as your wedding ring (left) or do you wear them on the opposite wrist?
Ive never owned a watch and I got a nice one for Christmas but I am unsure if there are any rules to how to wear it?!

I have a white ceramic watch. When I wear it I wear it on my right hand. Only because I prefer to wear watches on my right!

I have a watch with Swarovski crystals on it and I always wear it on my left hand... I'd never thought about balancing the bling

I wear mine on the same hand as my rings, and here's why:
I work in the jewelry industry, and believe it or not, if you are right handed it is proper to wear your watch on the left, and if you are left handed you wear it on your right wrist. The reason: the watch will get less banged up because that hand gets used a little less.
Rule #2 (which I don't personally follow): Women should wear their watches above the wrist bone, and men should wear them AT the wrist, ie. closest to the hand. I'm not sure why. I don't find it comfortable, so I size my bands to fit at the wrist. but if you like to follow style rules, go ahead and try it!

@Mrs. D: See I'm left handed, but I still wear it on my left. Its because if I'm wearing a bracelet too I'd rather have the bracelet on my right wrist for the reasons you mentioned, whereas a watch is more fitted...
I didn't know that about the placement on the wrist. Interesting!

I wear all my wrist jewellry on my left hand because I'm right-handed and don't like how it feels as I write if I'm wearing anything. However, since LO was born, I stopped wearing on my left wrist because it scratches LO's head when I hold her.

I wear a watch on my left since I am right handed and it is not comfortable when I am writing. I only wear bracelets when I go out (like with friends or DH) so I can wear them on my right hand.

I always wear my watch on my left hand. And when I wear bracelets, it just depends on what type of bracelet I"m wearing. If it's something nice (with diamonds on it or something) I'll wear it on my left hand (with my engagement ring and wedding ring). If it's a regular ole costume jewelry bracelet, I wear it on the right hand, so as not to clash with my rings. Never really thought about it so this is just what came naturally to me.

I have a lot of bracelets that I love so I double up. Watch and bracelet on left, two bracelets on the right. They're small so they don't get on the way too much. If I go simple, I wear just the watch on the left. I am right handed. I like picking out lefties by their watches. It's something to do while waiting for a flight.

I don't wear a watch any more, but I used to wear it on my left hand. I wear two wedding bands on my left hand and my engagement ring with some stacking rings on my right hand. My watch is stainless with gold, my wedding rings are white gold with diamonds and my stacking rings are gold with tiny diamond chips. I love mixing metals.

I have always worn watches on my left wrist and have continued to do so while wearing my engagement ring and wedding band. I don't wear jewelry very often these days because it gets in the way of taking care of my LO.

I have a very blingy watch and I wear it on my left hand. I would feel so weird wearing it on my right.

Left wrist. Never wore a watch in my life either until my son's arrival...needed a stopwatch for timing my wife's contractions, then for LO's feedings/naps during the first year.

I'm a righty who wears her watch on her right wrist (not above). Hubs wears his watch above his wrist bones and I think it looks odd, but he says it's comfortable.

The only thing I do right-handed is write and I wear my watch on my right wrist. So I'm sort of messed up.
