and you get a new prescription, does it make your eyes feel funky for a few days? I just got contacts yesterday and I'm supposed to try them out for a week before I order them but it almost feels like they are having a hard time focusing, so I'm not sure if this is something that will pass within the week or if I should call back for another appointment sooner. I haven't used contacts in a good year or more so I can't remember what it was like at first.

I always get a headache when I wear a new prescription, glasses or contacts. Then my eyes adjust & I can see wonderfully!!

Yes, always, for both glasses and contacts. I'd say it takes a solid week to readjust to the new script.

@Bao: maybe a day or two? I don't wear contacts often, either!
I had major problems when my eye doctor switched brands on me. The trial pair he gave me were great, but something felt off on my full order. I ended up returning those & getting my tired but true accuvue moist contacts. I wear daily disposables which makes a big difference for me.

My doctor tried to give me a new type of contacts last year (apparently more breathable or something?) because there aren't many options available for my prescription and my astigmatism. I actually had to go back to my old ones because they never got right--I couldn't focus and just really couldn't see well, period. He had changed the scrip a bit, too, but I think mine was really because of the type of contacts. I hope yours work out better!

The new type of contact thing is totally true for me too - I always wear Acuvue with no problems but my doctor had me try some CibaVision ones and I couldn't stand them.

Yes! I always get a tension-type headache and feel like I am constantly trying to "adjust" my contacts. So annoying!

@mfa_lady: I just had this same issue. I had to go back three times before he just switched me back to the old brand. I would call your eye doctor and ask. Blurry vision is no fun and very distracting.
