like completely alone, no hubs, no kids, would you buy a condo or a small house? the condos work out to be slightly more $$ once you figure in the fees on top of the mortgage, but would include groundskeeping and some snow removal. the little houses have outdoor space for a garden/entertaining (but not a ton, like ~.15 acres, so nothing overwhelming) and garage parking, plus storage space, but living space is about equal or even slightly smaller than the condos.
the houses seem nice because you have more privacy (i guess this is a double edged sword, i mean if someone broke in & tried to kill you, maybe with closer neighbors they'd hear you screaming & call the police, but space from you neighbors means you don't have to listen to them argue 24/7), a yard, could be a fun project to throw myself into, but the condos seem easy and maybe easy is better, but it's not much different than living in an apt. pros? cons? what would you prefer & why?
ETA: i have a snowblower, but let's be real, i've never used it & prob never will, but the driveways are less then two car lengths long & single car width, so i could have it done for very little. the lawns are pretty small, i might not mind mowing once a wk or paying a neighborhood teen to do it for $25 (i don't care if it's perfect, just that it's done)
