And all the water boiled away and the pot started burning before you realized it.
What would you do?
Toss the pot? Wash and keep it?

Let it cool, soak, wash and keep!
I may or may not have done this -a few- times!
ETA: all our pots and pans are really nice so that's why I won't toss!

depending how bad the burn, i'd toss it-- i hate scrubbing pots and pans esp when i have a ton of new unused ones still in my cabinets!

I'd soak it to see it it came off, but if it didn't, I'd HATE to toss it.

I did this one time when I was steaming beets for DD! I boiled more water and a tiny bit of soap in it on the stove and the scrubbed it. I had to repeat the process a few times, but eventually, I got all of the burnt stuff off the pot!

Depending on the pot, something like Bar Keeper's Friend will work wonders.

@pelikila: I was gonna make the same suggestion! Depends on the pot brand/surface but Bar Keepers Friend or Comet would work well!

Haha - at first I thought you were asking about keeping the corn!
I would definitely keep the pan (corn too, probably!)
