Not at all - when DH tells me about him in HS and college I am like "omg we would have never dated!"

I think we met just when we were suppose to and no sooner!

If we had met sooner I would have still been attracted to him, because I liked bad boys...but, he's 3 years younger than I am and I would have NEVER EVER considered dating him if we had met in school. We met at work where I didn't even think to ask his age until I was going to a bar and he told me he couldn't go because he wasn't 21 haha

ah, no.. he's older than me and dating him at 19 was kinda pushing it.

I do sometimes think about if I had a baby sooner. We waited 10+ years to get married and have kids.

No. We weren't ready for each other and it would never have worked if we met when we were younger.

I started dating DH when I was 24, but we actually met and became good friends at uni when I was 20. We were both in and out of relationships with other people during those 4 years and I can't say I ever thought of him as more than a friend. He actually asked me out a year or so before we got together and I turned him down!

I think we both just had to be in the right place in our lives for it to work. It really would not have worked if we'd have tried sooner!

No. If anything we met too soon (17 & 18). We both admit we had a pretty crappy relationship for the first two years. I wish I had spent those years differently. We broke up at that point and even though it was just for a day it really changed the course of the relationship for the better (in my opinion).

Nope! We met when I was just about to turn 23, and he was a few months shy of 25. I tell him that it would've been cool to experience college/formals/etc. with him. But for the most part, I'm so happy with when we met! I definitely wouldn't have taken him seriously in hs/college! But that's immaturity on my part too, back then!

We met our freshman year of college, and I think we would have dated if I met him in high school but it probably wouldn't have lasted. My husband was very depressed in high school and had a lot of family issues, and I was so self-engrossed that I don't think I would have been able to be there for him. Both of us would have been more self-absorbed (because that's how high schoolers are!) and neither of us would have had the personal growth we had in high school that made us more mature than many of our peers when we finally met in college and therefore equipped us to have such a strong relationship--and start a family--relatively young. So I wouldn't change anything if I went back in time: who knows what would inadvertently change!

We definitely could have met sooner since we knew the same people. However, it wouldn't have made a difference because he was in a serious relationship and I was dating. Our timing worked out for the best I think.

I don't think I would have wanted to. From what he describes, he's the same person he was then as he is now, but I had a lot of things happen to me that made me really appreciate the type of man that DH is. If I never had my relationship with my ex, I wouldn't have found out exactly what I DIDN'T want in a husband so I recognized what I DID want immediately...and that was DH!

We met when we were 14 and 16, so I don't think we could have met much sooner. But we didn't start dating until 17 and 19.

We definitely could have met sooner (that is, the connections that led to our meeting existed for years before we got together). I don't think we would have been at all compatible in high school and college, though. We've both changed since then.

I think we would have been happy if we'd started dating when we first met instead of when we did (three years later).

I met my DH a few days after turning 18 so meeting more than a week sooner wouldn't have worked out.

um, no we definitely wouldn't have made it if we met sooner. My husband is very eccentric, and meeting him in my late 20s it was not a big deal, but meeting him when I was a cool teen or early 20s girl, no way would I have been into him! I think we met at just the right time.

Nope. We are 7 yrs apart so if we met really young, it's just wrong lol. Then he was married, then he was grieving as she passed away. So DH and I met at exactly the right time.

We've discussed this, actually, and both agree that we wouldn't even have been close friends had we met earlier than we did. We both had a lot of growing up to do to get us to where we were when we met -- and we have done a lot more growing up since then!

Nope. I met him when I was 19, and he being nearly five years older- it would have been a highly inappropriate relationship any earlier! We always joke because he had graduated college before I graduated high school.

I don't think we were ready to meet before we did. I needed time to get over my last relationship, move-on and grow as a person. He needed to mature, realize what he wanted in life, and be ready to settle down. It wouldn't have worked at all if we met earlier.

However, we could have started TTC a bit earlier.

Nope - we met when I was 29, on my last holiday before heading home after living abroad for the previous four years and living the jet setter lifestyle. Had I met him earlier, I probably wouldn't have pursued our long distance (Australia to the US) relationship as I was having too much fun living the dream life and was by no means ready to give it up for a relationship! As it was, our relationship was enough of a chance meeting that I believe it was meant to be.

It's a lock that if we had met earlier we would NOT have liked each other. In fact I think we would have probably not gotten along at all! We met after we both quit drinking completely. Had we met prior to that it would have been a disaster, we can tell just from the stories we share...
