We actually did meet sooner but didn't pay any attention to each other. We were in the same wedding party together 10 years before we met and started dating, but the timing wasn't right then.
My husband was a bit wilder in his younger days, so while I would have been attracted to him, he wasn't really serious relationship material. Sometimes I hate that it took us so long to find each other (mid-30s), but I don't think we would have been ready for each other sooner.

Maybe? I met DH when I was 30 and that may sound 'old', but I definitely had to outgrow my bad boy phase and be ready to meet a stable, loving guy instead of an 'exciting' one. It was good for me to date a bunch before meeting him so I could appreciate him

I'd like to think that I would have fallen in love just the same had we met earlier, and I might have. But really, I was absolutely obsessed with appearances in high school, to just a gross degree. My husband was not 'cool' then. He was cool in college, once he'd found his people, and young me was very into the combination of cute nerdy cool guy.
Isn't that a sad thought? That if you'd met your partner earlier you two might never have clicked? I hate thinking about it!

I don't think it would've worked if we'd met sooner. I was 29 and he was 23. I sometimes wish I hadn't gotten involved with my ex for 3 years (I met them both at the same time) so that we could have had more time as a couple before marriage. But I'm not sure I would've believed a 23 year old would want to be in his last relationship. at 26 and 32 we were much better suited and in the right place for each other.

We did in fact meet younger having gone to school together from elementary through high school. We did "date" in high school and we always friendly, but we both had other high school sweethearts when we graduated. We saw each other when we were home from college on breaks, I went and visited him once or twice, but it was never much of anything. Then we ran into each other when we were living 5 hours apart my sophomore and his junior year in college, and we have been together ever since. I finished up my term and moved up to Seattle to be with him 6 weeks later at 19. I'm glad it worked out the way it did and we had some time away from each other and had other experiences and relationships. We have been together for 11.5 years now and married for 8.5.
