Does your LO just look at their reflection?
R doesn't play with the tous hanging, girlfriend just likes to stare at herself. She does kick so the piano plays music but I don't think she knows she is making the music yet.

Hahahaha - sometimes! But my LO is really attracted to the toys that (1) have solid nommable surfaces, and (2) toys that make a crinkle-y sound.

I sing to her a lot too . . . and when I am holding her we always stop when we pass a mirror and I sing a little song I made up for her (titled "Cutie Patootie") and dance with her in my arms. She loves it!

@Smurfette: We have the same piano one and M stared at herself HARD CORE until she was old enough to really grab the toys (and try to pull them down to her mouth)

@MamaMoose: when was that? It cracks me up that she just looks at herself. I try and get her to play with the toys but so far no luck.

When our son was still little (3 months-ish), he LOVED toys with mirrors. Now at 8 months, he gives himself the hugest grin when he sees himself in a mirror. I call his reflection "Your favorite person!"

@Smurfette: I think about 4 months is when she really started playing with the toys.

Hehe my kids love looking at themselves in the mirror, but they like(d) playing with the hanging stuff.

We didn't get the play gym until she was ten weeks, so she was already grabbing stuff, but the mirror on her swing was her favorite part. Now we talk to "that baby" everywhere we go - she looooves her own reflection.

Smurfette: all my baby apps have been talking about mirrors and encouraging them since about week 8! Sounds like R us right on track! I just ordered a floor mirror because the one on our mat is flat on the mat and doesn't quite like tummy time that much and I feel like her face is too close to the mirror. But she loves checking us out in the bathroom mirrors!

We have the Skip Hop activity mat and it has a mirror on the floor mat, however LO was never interested in it. So we bought him the mirror in the matching set so he could stare at himself during tummy time. He loves looking at himself in mirrors.
